Trying to claim compensation following change in destination due to bad weather

Some of you may remember at the end of Feb. there were very high winds in the south that affected travel. My parents were returning to Gatwick that morning and their flight was diverted to Liverpool. Meantime, I got a text from easyjet (I manage all their flight bookings) telling me that any costs of travelling from Liverpool to Gatwick and/or hotel costs would be compensated.
Anyway, they got a taxi from Liverpool to Gatwick with one other passenger. They gave me the name of the taxi company, the time of travel and the cab number. I contacted the taxi firm who emailed me the receipt. I tried calling easy jet. No joy. I then contacted easy jet via my account attaching a pdf of the receipt and heard nothing within the 7 working days they claim to respond to queries. I tried calling again. No joy. I then wrote a letter, attaching a physical copy of the receipt and am still waiting to hear back.
This case is complicated by two factors:
1. my parents paid in cash
2. my parents 'allowed' the third traveller (who they don't know but met on the flight) to be the named passenger. She told them they didn't need to give their names as well. So, obviously, the receipt is made out to this passenger only (first name. no surname) and, I imagine, she can, maybe has, claimed the FULL amount already.
Any thoughts, suggestions, ways I could, at least, get a response from easy jet? they paid out over £200, which they can ill afford to go without.

SUCCESS THROUGH PERSEVERANCE.
Flight delays - Vauban's Guide has been of immense help - please read it before posting questions - I'll be surprised if your answers aren't in there.
April 2016 - successfully claimed €1600 from Thomas Cook for 6 hour delay in August 2015
Old debt passed to collection agency? Issue CCA request & possibly have debt rendered unenforceable. Feb 2021 - £42 of old debt legally written off & cost £1 per account.0 -

Easyjet thread pushed on to the next page - because low and behold people ignore the sticky and keep putting new personal threads on the board cluttering it up...
And I think the other passenger knowingly or unknowingly has stuffed your parents chances of a refund if EJ have already paid out for the taxi....sorry.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
