My hours are fluctuating around the 30hr mark - working tax credit advice please

I'm on working tax credits but my hours are fluctuating. It used to be you had to contact them if your hours went below 30hrs for 4 weeks... is that still the case? Or have things changed?

Thanks

So are u worried ,the year has pasted

    If u got 6.50 x 30 x 52 =£10,140 ,u should be ok

But if u got less than, that will be on your case

Why don't u get rid of 30 hr element ,which is £15 a week

Ring them up and say your doing less than 30
  • i'm not sure i understand your post.

Minimum wage from October to April was £6.70.

You cannot simply stop claiming the 30hr element. In this OPs circumstances that would stop their claim entirely.
  • I thought it'd used to be if your hours dip under 30hrs a week for 4 weeks, then you had to inform them and could no longer continue that claim. Has this now changed?

    Thanks

Perhaps it is now as soon as you go under 30hrs and you have 30days to let them know.

That's only for couples with children.
