Tuesday 19th April - what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Morning everyone :hello: early start as DD came for cuddles
I'm working from home today and depending on how little I do I might book half a days holiday
My today will look like:
As up managed to get a second load on cheap leccy, will hang out
Check banking, FPL and surveys
Meals from stores, we go away in approx 6 weeks and have decided to try and run freezer(s) down as much as possible between now and then.
Fly lady bathroom
Write a couple of cards, one will be hand delivered. 2 will use rm survey stamps
Write list of cards due in next month or so and pop to cheap shop to get if in town
Having haircut with voucher so no spend
Think that's all for now, check back later0 -

Morning all.. Not much in the way of DFW for the day but
-chk banking and see if all payments from weekend gone through
-already declared a NSD today - heading into work shortly
-food/drink from home
-may finish the last of decluttering/sorting today - really enjoyed doing this as found a fair bit to sell/list though the amazon/ebay fees are a little soul-destroying, almost a quarter taken in commission with book posted yesterday:mad: but at least it means a little more thrown at debt
Hope everyone has a lovely day:DDebt outstanding [STRIKE]£3491.[/STRIKE] £3303
NSD 10/150 -
Have had a great DFW day so far!

Took my daughter down to the park with breakfast this morning and spent a good hour there - she's coming up on 3 so she was running wild
Took a nice walk down to my Gran and Granda's but they weren't in
Gutted the house which is now in order
Still a NSD and even found £5.00 in an old pair of trousers
Will add this to the £2.90 I had set for my PAD today so another £7.90 off the debts and onto the signature
Fitted the dishwasher door that OH has been nagging about (even though she ripped it off! lol)
Used the last of the Wonky Veg box we had for another batch of soup for today's lunch
Last of the washing done and out to dry
Sitting down to some toast and coffee now

Hi everyone
Thanks for starting us off PurpleFairy :A
Wow Legomum – definitely breathe! Hope things get back on track.

Here’s me:
Cereal in work – free milk

Free tea in work
Didn’t wash my hair

Packed lunch :A
Batch cooking this evening – beef cannelloni with lots of veg/pulses/beans to bulk it up

Buy mum’s bday card from cheapo shop – it’s only going in the recycling!

Finish knitting project – pal’s baby toy
WM on quick wash...
Sort out recycling!
Sort out YNAB :A
Watching Spanish prog for free on rtve.es – if you don’t use it you lose it

I need to buy pal a pressie – I’m going to get her a keep cup as she’s a new mum – perfect for a new mum methinks – tea stays warm for longer while she tends to baby – less waste – more saving – everyone’s happy.

My other money saving tip of the day...OH doesn’t have milk so that means traditional ‘white sauce’ for pasta is off the menu... Much cheaper alternative is a can of sweetcorn whizzed up in the food processor... If you haven’t tried this you should – it goes gooey and sweet and crispy on top. It’s delicious spread on top of lasagne etc and it’s mega cheap! I do it on top of wraps as ‘quesadillas’ and pasta bakes.

Well so far have put a load of washing out to line dry
Walked a couple of journies
Fed DD some more home made carrot puree.
Made courgette puree for the freezer for next week's meals.

Hi all,
Thanks for the start PF, enjoy your haircut!
Maria - glad you had a nice weekend. Hope the last ewes lamb quickly for you. Great going on the shopping!
CCL- hope your DS get's better soon.
LegoMum - oh no
hope your day has taken a turn for the better
JHiggins - Sounds like a very successful day planned! Can't beat a local park for tiring out the little ones!
Yasmin - I know what you mean re: fees
LaE - great top tip
thanks!
Long time no post. It's been busy past week.
I signed up for Bounts last week... then over the weekend I managed to step awkwardly off some decking and snapped my ankle over
resulting in a severe sprained ankle and crutches
I don't think I stand a chance of 7000 steps for a while now!! at least I only went with the free account on Bounts!
Today:
wfh, only using fuel to drop kiddos off (luckily it's my left ankle & I drive an auto!! otherwise I would have been up the creek without a paddle!!)
nsd
meals from stores/meal plan
update YNAB
We're doing a village garage sale at the weekend so hoping to direct hubs to get loads of our old stuff down from the loft to shift.:DNew total: £24,006
I will do this.0
