I need to buy pal a pressie – I’m going to get her a keep cup as she’s a new mum – perfect for a new mum methinks – tea stays warm for longer while she tends to baby – less waste – more saving – everyone’s happy. :D

My other money saving tip of the day...OH doesn’t have milk so that means traditional ‘white sauce’ for pasta is off the menu... Much cheaper alternative is a can of sweetcorn whizzed up in the food processor... If you haven’t tried this you should – it goes gooey and sweet and crispy on top. It’s delicious spread on top of lasagne etc and it’s mega cheap! I do it on top of wraps as ‘quesadillas’ and pasta bakes.

Went for this rather than the keepcup http://www.wilko.com/teapots+mugs/travel-mug-make-good-things-happen/invt/0414300 Yay to £5 :T

Oooh, hope you like the sweetcorn topping HelleBelle  Hope your ankle gets better soon!! :(

Afternoon all :)
Thanksfor starting the thread PF :)
CCL, sorry to hear that your husband is struggling again. Hope your son is ok :(
Legomum - I hate mornings like that! Hope your day has improved.

So far today I have:
Cheapie porridge breakfast
Bones from weekend chicken in SC to make stock
Washing on line to dry Did another load, and got both dry :T
Bits from fridge for lunch
Walked mutt
Walked to town, popped into sales unit, where sadly nothing had sold.
Bought a few items to make main meals over the next few days, some fruit and also loo rolls from the pound shop (they are half the price of the supermarkets, and a good brand). Used a shopping voucher from RM surveys in Iceland towards the peppers and bananas I bought from there :)
Treated myself to a new chilli plant from Waitrose - my current one is a few years old and needs to be replaced. I will try cutting it back and repotting it though, to see if it perks up! I have plenty of chillis in the freezer to last till either the baby plant has chillis on, or the old one recovers :)
A few surveys for onepoll

Still to do:
Water pots in front garden Done
Repot old chilli plant and cut it back Done
Repot new young chilli plant and find it a place on the conservatory table Done
HM dinner - I fancy chicken curry :)Done - Hairy Bikers diet version of Chicken Bhuna :D
Do some housework, possibly the stairs as they are still a bit messy from all the visitors at the weekend :oNot done :o
Check banks Done, nothing unexpected
Bit of paperwork for business Done
Another dog walk OH did the afternoon one :)
Pick slivers of meat off chicken bones once stock is done. This will do for the dog's dinner (it is his favourite thing :)) with some biscuit, and save opening a pouch. Done, he loves it :)
Check back for surveys, FPL etc Several more for onepoll :)
Heating has been off all day :)

Hope everyone is having a good day :)

Thanks La E

Additional MSE thing done today: now I'm at the end of my mobile contract, I've negotiated a new cheaper one.
Old one: £38 incl phone
Automatic transfer to sim only: £18
After negotiations: £8 sim only :D:D:D
This does give me less 'stuff' but I never used all my allowance anyway, so no point in paying for stuff I won't use.
New total: £24,006 :(
I will do this.

Well today I got my first £2.50 into Paypal from Opinion Outpost, not bad for just over a week since I joined up.
So then I walked to the village and found 2 YS'd Rhubarb pies for 29p each! So my question is.....can you freeze a rhubarb pie that is already cooked?

Now got some more stuff to list on FB sites and then some ironing to do. Then tomorrow my first couple of hours of my new casual job.

• Hi All,

So I found a place who was willing to accept housing benefit but they want a guarantor. I only have one person who I know who earns over the required amount and he has said no so looks like I'm never going to move :(

Is it worth speaking to Shelter or your local council to see if there are any schemes which could help with this?

.

Yes, you can freeze cooked pies, as long as they haven't been frozen before in their cooked state :)

That's a great saving. What did you have to say to get the extra £10 off?

make_the_change so sorry to hear that, as DawnW mentioned is it perhaps something that you could look into r.e. Shetler etc?

We're just back from a nice walk - free exercise and daughter loved it, found a path from our estate out through a field and onto the main road which is good to know about and a nice little stroll aswell.
NSD as planned today so delighted :)
