I've entered them since they changed over to postal and only miss an odd one. I send one postcard per comp using my free stamps from the RM survey. However, I'm yet to win any ITV compThanks to all posters :A0

I buy a couple of sets of 2nd class stamps and send off one entry per competition and thats it. If I win, great. If I lose, it's only cost me a 2nd class stamp so I don't mind0

Our digital engagement has grown significantly in the year, delivering 100 million votes across our big entertainment shows and 40 million paid competition entries
( thanks for that MGM).
Now going a bit further on this does anyone know how much in prizes ( in terms of value) do ITV give out in the year?0 -

My rough guess for competitions would be somewhere under £7 million a year*
There might be something in their accounts or you could search through game over to try and work it out

*If they run a 20k comp every week on both tipping point and real deal that's about £2 million and the weeks they don't run them would more than cover any one off ones.
Then there are the combined GMB/lorraine and/or this morning/loose women ones say a punchy 100k a week for another £5 million0 -
Thanks for that MGM. £5 million's worth of prizes per year on ITV seems about right.
When you match that up against the 40 million paid entries it just doesn't seem worth entering whichever way they are defining a paid entry!
I'm not sure whether "paid entries" includes post card entries ( as opposed to text and phone-call entries) but if you are paying for a second class stamp that is still going to cost you 64 pence.0 -

The other way to look at it is what profit do ITV etc. make on the deal. 40 million paid entries per year is about 770,000 per week. I just looked at the cost of the paid for entry on the first one I found and that's £2 per call or text. Even if it costs them £1.50 to process the call etc. that's income of £385K. Spend £100K on prizes (or probably less since they will be provided at trade prices in return for the advertising) and some more on filming the inserts, updating the website etc. plus whatever they pay a handling company to deal with postal entries.... Still makes them a six figure sum in profit every comp!I need to think of something new here...0 -

Definitely does not include postal or web entries and probably doesn't include the free entry from a bogof or a 3 for 2.0 -
All this year so far, Me and my other half has done a good 25ea, for each of the comps which costs a lot and very boring to write! In the hope we come out on top, but zilch!! We have lost a lot now, so we are doing it until end of June then that's 6months! So we can defo say weve tried!0

Hi. Last month I won £100,000 AND a Mercedes on the ITV competition. I sent in a postcard (well, I actually sent about 10!). All I wrote on the card was my name and my mobile number. Never in a million years thought I would ever win something like this, especially as I'd entered the 'old fashioned' way! Good luck!! x0
