Shame that common sense didn't go as far as to that wasn't the first thing I did

How many times do they need to verify my address? How much effort does it take for them to tell me the reason why there is a problem?

Your problem is they way you speak to people. Drop the attitude and Amazon might actually listen to you. Keep the above up and forget having our account back!

Have you tried phoning them ?

Our account was in my husband's name so one person refused to deal with me when calling about a faulty item delivered (my husband being unable to call in office hours).

I called again and a lady arranged to add my name to the account, after some security questions, so both of us can use it, now. She was very helpful.

Thats advice, thanks for that. Yes I tried but was told it was dealt by a specific team and they had no access to and all they could do was email the team for me.

Theres a keyboard warrior right there, most of my messages were simply stating the information they wanted, a few times I told them I was unhappy with their service and felt it was badly run.

Emails generally went "here is following information"

Then when bounced back I was like "information already provided"

Then when still getting bounced back I said "as stated on previous emails this is information, I am up to X amount of emails sent to you now"

    How is that attitude?

Anyway its gotten worse, after over 20 emails to them I managed to find a local place that had a fax machine, sent fax Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning it was unlocked made my order got it Wednesday and went to make another order tonight.

Within minutes it was locked and was given the same message as last week wanting me to fax bank statment in and provide proof.

So I am now on the 4th time I have been locked after being unlocked 3 times.

Does that not show they have screwed up somewhere?

Complete stupidity on the part of Amazon. I try to avoid this wretched company whenever and wherever possible. Unfortunately there are some things you just have to get from them, but nearly always you can find stuff cheaper elsewhere. I tend to browse Amazon then go to suppliers direct, if possible. For books I recommend Books Etc. You can nearly always get stuff cheaper there.

What kind of things do you have to get from Amazon?

Recent example - new remote control for a five-year-old TV. The device was supplied by a third party, but they didn't have their own website, so I was stuck with ordering via Amazon. Much else though, can usually be sourced form other suppliers.

As for the situation at hand, bear in mind that the whole email address issue has caused the hassle! Next time, KISS (keep it simple, silly). Don't create hassle! Make an email address and don't dispose of it! My first hotmail one is 16 years old and I can get access!
