Just opened a new account as not used it in ages and at previous address and had a different card then too.
Placed a few small orders and a hour later got a "address verification" email from them (legit as couldnt log in)
Sent them the required information to 4 times in same day get the same email back requesting information.
Today they unlock account and say orders will be sent out when ready.
1 hour after that they lock account again saying they need to verify my address.
What are they doing?! I phoned bank and they say Amazon only took the test £1 payments yesterday and none today.

Why open a new account when you could have changed the address ?0 -

Just be warned that Amazon are very strict about having more than one account, if they do link the old account to the new one they may well suspend them both.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thats good old rudeness there.
Actually for your information I haven't used the account in ages and so forgot the email address.
So instead of going all rude use your common sense instead of acting like a keyboard warrior.0 -

My common sense would have had me searching my email accounts for emails from amazon, then using the forgotten password link...0 -

Shame that common sense didn't go as far as to that wasn't the first thing I did.
I have emails I can dispose of and one just for family, and one for Ebay/Paypal (which I assumed would be the same one) as I end up after a while when buying getting a lot of spam so stop using old account.
Shame this is what passes as advice these days.0 -
So I provide the information they require, get account unlocked but have to make new order, 10 minutes after I place new order "your account is locked until we can verifiy your address please send us your bank statement"
Are they really that bad or has some silly automated glitch occured.0 -
They are not that bad at all, Amazon is a massive platform for fraud so if anything flags to them a even slightly suspicious they are going to want you to verify details. You are complaining now because you are genuinely trying to buy something but you should be quite glad really that they wouldn't just let someone try to use a stolen card or just send stuff to someone using your identity.0

Im complaining because they locked account 3 times without telling me the exact reason and each time when unlocking it they tell me I can now order only for when payment is attempted to be taken locking me again saying they need to verify my address.
How many times do they need to verify my address? How much effort does it take for them to tell me the reason why there is a problem? If they tell me address is different I can ask bank about errors (which I did anyway) for example.
All they tell me is to provide sensitive documents to prove my identity.0 -

Why continue to bother with Amazon, cut your losses and use other websites I future.0
