  • Good Morning everyone, woke very early this morning and was too hot in bed so I got up and had a very early cuppa! Housework done up and down, beds changed, spare bed changed, 2 loads of washing on the line and 3rd about to go in. Breakfast eaten, rice pudding made, shower had and waiting for a cup of coffee. The fence panels etc. were delivered by 7.30 yesterday morning (mega efficient) and He Who Knows is painting preservative on them before they go up some day this week. Phew!!! Salmon out of freezer and defrosting for supper tonight, avocado on toast with poached egg for lunch and I've been up so long it feels like lunchtime NOW! sadly I'll have to wait!

CANDLELIGHT I hope you got that lie in this morning love!

JACKIE hope you're having a well earned break away and not stressing too much about things you can't alter, have yourself a rest girl!

TRU and breathe!!! Keep in your minds eye how it will all look WHEN it is all finished and tidy again, this will pass and then you'll be happy. Gin helps!

Have yourselves a lovely day, hope you've all got dry even if you don't get the sunshine, Lyn xxx.

Jackie, sorry to hear your news.

TA, are you logging your food? I use myfitnesspal which is free and it's interesting how quickly you get to 800 calories. I have an underactive thyroid, which is treated, but my metabolism is still slow. This is the first diet I have tried that I'm actually losing weight at a good rate. I think that's more due to the things I've cut out rather than the calorie count, although of course that's helping. When I go back to normal I'm going to re-introduce things very carefully to try to identify what was causing my stomach problems.

I had a panic this morning. I was woken by a text from a friend saying "I've just seen the news, is DD ok". When I checked it was to see the earthquake in Ecuador - thankfully DD and her DH were already on a plane by that time.

You know, it saddens me greatly that so many of our little community are either poorly themselves, or worried sick about poorly loved ones.:( I do hope this situation reverses very soon.

Jackie I'm glad my warped sense of humour brought a smile to your face, in the midst of your worries. x

Mr LW was reminiscing about his Dad yesterday for some reason; anyways, at one point in the conversation, I said I wondered what his Dad would have made of me (his Dad passed away many years ago) and Mr LW said "Oh he'd have liked you, because you're eccentric." Not sure how I'm supposed to take that! :rotfl:

Anyways, I no longer have a silver badger-stripe; and I've taken the opportunity of being between dogs to wash the doggy tea towel (I keep one specially for drying dog bowls) and my dog walking gear - my fleece was covered in muddy Ollie-prints! :D

Not sure what we're doing this afternoon - it's a toss-up between continuing with cataloguing our books, and setting the sleeves into the cardi I'm knitting, a task I am not looking forward to. I can raise no enthusiasm for either task!
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

  • Afternoon ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Sorry to hear that your brother is so poorly Jackie, it must be so difficult for you being so far away.

Its a lovely day, bright and sunny, but brrr out in the wind. I did a load of laundry this morning, its out on the line, almost dry.

Cooked a gammon joint for supper, will do mustard sauce with it.

I have sorted out the clothes I am taking away with us, just need a couple more pairs of knickers and that bag will be done. The crate with packet food is filling up as well, some stuff we cannot put in till friday morning.

K came just before lunch with the bedside cabinet completed, he has mortared round the tap pipes he put in yesterday. Has taken the bed tray away to put some wood glue on the dovetail joints for the legs. Will bring it back during the week. So he really earnt his money.

OH is working on his puzzle, he wants to fnish it before we go away, he plans to take a new puzzle and the board away with us. I have a quilt I have been hand quilting for years, I want to try and finish it, so that will be in the car as well.

Everything is ready for the quilt group on Thursday, I just have to load the two cases into the car.

Its going to be a bbusy week. OH has an appointment for an MRI scan on Tuesday at 5.20......we may not get home until after 8pm, so we will have a cooked lunch, and I will prepare some sandwiches for when we get back.

Time to go and get the laundry in.............

Afternoon - am back in my own nest again.

Mum managed to only look at half of the stuff in H*mebase so the visit was fairly brief. New toilet seat bought and I got a half price bone china little milk jug, just the perfect size.

The journey home was really lovely, blue'ish skies and almost empty roads heading my way. I stopped off at NTS garden just as the rain started so I didn't stay there long.

Tomorrow I need to see if I can get some sort of brazier - I've got heaps of Mum's papers to burn. I usually do it out in the front field but would like to do it in the back garden.

I'm off to watch my recorded NCIS episodes from yesterday.

Jackie O so sorry to hear about your brother. Feel I should have warned you about the eccentricity of folks in Leek.

Very quiet day here as hubby not A1 so plans cancelled and a quiet day at home instead. Roast beef dinner was devoured so at last kids appetites are back. Some hand washing done and dried on line. School stuff to be sorted then watching something off tv planner.

    Take care everyone.
