Switching from dual fuel to separate suppliers

Thanks everyone. My annual spend is £730, so there's a hefty saving to be made.
For those that use Zog and GB, how does their website compare to SP? I quite like SP's yearly usage charts and the DD manager tool but not enough to stick with them0 -

Zog's website is very basic. All you can do is enter meter reads, there is no information about your account at all. The only contact is e-mail but they get back very quickly. Submit meter read last day of month, bill around 9th - 11th. Old fashioned and efficient. I would have no hesitation going back to them. When I left switch date 17th March, final bill 31st March, refund 1st April.0

By my calculations, I'll be in debit by a small amount when I transfer. Should I top up the account beforehand?0

Leave your DD in place and the supplier will recover the debt when your Final Bill is raised.
FWiW, Zog and GBEnergy are very basic when compared to the Big 6. GBEnergy now has online billing but Zog does not not. Presumably, the lack of DD managers and other 'bells and whistles' is reflected in their lower prices. If there is an issue, then e-mail or get on to them. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I was all set to sign up the other day, when it just occurred to me whether these are fairly new tariffs for ZOG? It looks like GB allow tariff hopping like SP but I'd be annoyed if I signed up with ZOG and they release a better rate next week.0

You cannot have it all ways. Zog offer a Mercury tariff which is fixed and Saturn which is not: the difference in price is roughly the exit fee. Yes, Zog could reduce its prices next week but it is unlikely as it has just done so and summer is almost upon us. They are also the lowest price supplier for me by a margin.
This is a decision that only you can make. You could go to E.oN and pay, in my case, £75 a year more and tariff hop at will. Personally, I will stick with Zog for both price and customer service.
Edit:
A further thought. I switched from Saturn to Mercury when the cost difference was more than £30 pa. For each month, I stay with Zog the exit fee effectively reduces by £2.50 per month. If I switched today, after two months on Mercury, then the cost to me would by £25. If ANOther company comes up with a tariff which is more than £25 cheaper, then switching is something that I will consider. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
