Whole new energy system for semi

We need a completely new heating system for a 3 bed semi, currently with storage heaters. We need a new boiler and new radiators. This house will be sold in around 3 years so it should be something that would appeal to future house hunters. Any suggestions please?

Depending on your circumstances, you might qualify for some help towards installing more energy-efficient heating. Not sure but I think this does not apply to buy-to-let owners. If you have a mains gas supply, that will always be the cheapest form of heating. Check out DIY stores, trade stores for prices of radiators so you know how much of a mark up tradesmen are putting on any quotes you may get. British Gas has just had a half-price sale on boilers; another firm may follow suit so just be aware.
Best thing you can do, in my experience, is trawl the MSE boards, there is so much good advice on here. Best of luck and let us know how you get on.0 -
If you have mains gas or can get it, that is by far the cheapest option. if you can't, leave it with NSH's, and an immersion heater running on E7. Both options have a similar running cost, and are much cheaper than oil, LPG or (worst of all) an electric boiler running wet CH.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Look at renewable options like air source heat pumps or ground source heat pumps. More expensive to
Install but cheaper to run and an added bonus of rhi payments!0
