PCN While stopped in traffic

Hi
I received a PCN in the post stating that the contravention was that i had stopped at a bus stop.
I feel this is incorrect as i was stopped in traffic but at the same time i saw a old friend and decided to give them a lift.
I do not understand how they can say i was stopped, when the image clearly shows a BUS in front of me as well as a car behind, yes maybe i was a little close to the curve but that does not mean i was stopped!
The car was a automatic so I had to have the brake pedal pressed or it would have continued to move, I did not have hazard lights or anything of the sort.
As it was not my car, id rather be safe by staying away from on coming traffic, there was no cycle lane so i do not understand how the council can justify me as stopped.
i have asked for video evidence to see if i DO NOT pull away as the bus moves to prove whether i was stopped or not.
i feel this is insane, and i am very annoyed, i am pretty sure there is no law states i can not open my door in traffic!
any advise would help before i send a formal representation.
thanks in advance

Because when you let your friend in the car, you could not have moved at that point. you were "Stopped"!0

As we tend to major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Here's your link:

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.
PePiPoo has an excellent success record in dealing with council tickets.
You might also like to read this article which contains links to a DIY robot to appeal council tickets. Many have apparently used this to very good effect.

HTHPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The door is shown open, so if the bus had moved at that point, you could not have moved.0

It would be best if you post on pepipoo as they get most people off most PCNs and can see issues with the PCN if you show them a full copy (all pages, just with your ID and car ID redacted).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The camera operator would issue you a fine for sneezing on the pavement if they thought they could, it's up to you to decide if you want to fight it, and as CM says Pepipoo is your best route.;)0

tell me about, its a joke, cameras everywhere, one wrong turn, stop or move and your get a PCN in the post.
crazy, i have seen the camera on many occasions but didn't know it was enforcing the bus stop0 -
One of my employees was done for driving in a bus lane at 3:45 PM when the bus lanes in that area didn't start until 4PM, and the street stated on the PCN had no bus lane, and was not wide enough to even get a bus down.
They however got their swag as the stupid lease company paid up without any communication or fuss.
Camden council (the worst for this we were told) refused to re-open the case as it had been paid, I sent a letter on the employees behalf to the lease company stating they weren't getting anything for their stupidty!
It's all about the money, but they are winnable!!0
