    Hi Ostritch,

On the coffee worth buying a reusable cap and taking your own, you can get them in pound shops or Aldi these days. Even if you do feel temptation for starbucks you get 50p off if you use your reusable cup

  • Thanks for the replies and motivation all!:j
I'm having a mixed day, I have picked up an extra shift at second job today- but I just went out and brought a packet of cigarettes (I gave up 4 months ago) and a whole bag of magic stars. NSD down the pan :(
Roll on payday to make another dent in my debt!

  • Oh wow its been ages since I last posted! This weekend was manic- I ended up working all of it and then going to the gym Sunday and today I feel exhausted!
On the MSE front- things are going well! The savings jar still has money in it, as does the bank account and I have now started to buy weekly travel tickets as opposed to daily (why did I not do that before!) Tonight, I have decided to join a netball club and im heading down for a return to netball session. Oooooer! :rotfl: NSD will be tricky after paying netball, but apart from that I shouldnt be spending anything.
Monica- the getting up was great- though I did need to literally haul myself to the floor- but it works and maybe it will become more natural :rotfl::rotfl:
    Hope your all well!

  • Hi good luck.

Could you start a regular savings account instead of a jar.

You could have a metaphorical jar on the wall as a pictorial reminder/motivator of what is going into the RS.

£100 saved each month will give you £39.16 interest pa (6% from First D or HBC advance customer)

Then the following year you could carry on the £100pm and add another £100 from the money saved the previous year = £78.32 interest plus interest from the £1239.16 (first year saving) which you have put in TSB classic plus earning 5% interest.

Then the third year..... you get the picture.
Debt is a symptom, solve the problem.
  • Back on the bandwagon! This couple of weeks have been a little bit spendy, but not horrendous! Little spends on food (mainly!) and some wedding bits!:eek:I have paid another 300 towards my debts over the past two weeks and have put another 1,500 in the saving account! :T
How is everyone? Looking forward to catching up on all your diaries!

  • Fallen off the wagon and feeling really silly about it.
I havent used either credit card, have put money into my savings accounts and am still in the the black in the bank. But i just feel a little down about how much silly spends ive had recently i.e takeaway, lunch for work and ive started bloody smoking again:eek::eek::eek::eek:
I lost my motivation, and today ive tried my hardest and went back on the lunch bandwagon, took leftovers today, with a cuppasoup.
I need a big kick up the butt!:mad:
    Please feel free....

So, i can recoup I can recoup, I can! *jumps around*:j
Ive had a really bad two weeks, but in the realms of damage limitation its ok.
NSD Day today, promise! :rotfl: Savings are intact, credit card has not been used. Bank balance is looking a little low, but everything is paid so i need to get out of the habit of thinking 'oh all is paid, and transferred so lets spend away!' when actually I could be making overpayments!:mad:
