Its time for me to now start my debt free diary! I've been a silent lurker for about a year silently willing you all on, and now i'm ready to start my own journey! Its been the biggest struggle, but I've been paying and working so hard over the past year that I've halved my debt completely! :j And now the time has come for the last push! Im hoping to use this diary as a log, a support and somewhere to document my NSD and celebrate! So i apologies in advance for the boring logs, the ranting and the sarcastic ramblings for the future!
A little bit about me, i am in a good position to clear my debts and a year ago those debts consumed me. I had the worst feeling when i thought about them and stuck my head in the sand for a while, something I now call the ostrich effect! But ive grown to tackle them head on after silently following so many of you! I dont have a mortgage or dependents but my debts come from a stupidly expensive mistake when buying a house with a previous partner, running, moving and renting deposits and just living outside of my means. I took a massive paycut and now have worked my way into another job, which I love and am starting to get back on my feet. I know its not logical, but I am saving at the same time as reducing my debt (I hear you scream at the computer, but its a compromise with OH) so my diary will be a savings motivation and debt reduction motivation. Owards and upwards!

So today I have so far, worked out a spreadsheet of all outgoings, cc payments and expenditure and incoming and well as savings, and I must admit i am excited to start inputting on it and updating my signature with payments! Motivation!
I've brought lunch into work today, snacks and coffee! And as this diary goes on you will see how much of a coffee addict I am! Gone are the days of £3 a day on a Starbucks:eek: (which unfortunately sits just outside my door!) Today should be a NSD but we are going to see a few friends but I aim to keep it low spends! Other than that with weekend should be expenditure free!:ASavings: [STRIKE]1,500[/STRIKE] 3,000/ 10,000 Debt: [STRIKE]4319.78[/STRIKE] 4000/8,500:eek:

Great so see that you've came so far already, without the support and motivation of being an active member on this forum. It's never easy, but it'll be easier than what it was previously.
Good luck! Subscribed.
Oh. I share you addiction for coffee, so I feel your pain.0 -

Hi Beatthedebt! Thanks for the reply! I know and I probably should have...but it's an investment really!:rotfl: It doubles up as a wish jar for my wedding next year... and it was on sale. Can I disguise that as being MSE?:A
I went out with friends tonight, and stuck below my budget, and it was money that was ring fenced, so I've put 24 pounds in my new savings jar! Every cloud... lol!Savings: [STRIKE]1,500[/STRIKE] 3,000/ 10,000 Debt: [STRIKE]4319.78[/STRIKE] 4000/8,500:eek:
