oil tank leak alarm

I have a Harlequin bunded tank with a leak alarm.
Pressed the test button and it shows red. The wording says green indicates battery OK and red indicates a leak (ie liquid in the bund).
I just wondered if red could also indicate the battery is low/dying? It's 5 years old and still the original battery (life expectancy 2 years I see!).
Anyone got experience?

No experience, but the red light may double as a low battery alarm. It depends on how clever the sensor unit is. Some sensors would simply cease to function when the battery fails.
The obvious thing to do is fit a new battery and then check to see if you still have a red light.
Is there a drain tap or plug on the bund that you can carefully open (bucket at the ready) to see if any liquid comes out?
