I’ d say not enough sockets in any of the rooms or kitchen but cheap price for a three bedroom place that pricing must be up north or a non electrician or both ?
• Sorry, should have clarified it is based in Newcastle and it is a proper electrician

I know the quote doesn't clarify it but it is double sockets, so the 2 x sockets is for 2 double sockets in the bedrooms
• Really and there putting the consumer unit in the bathroom :rotfl:

How are they switching the lights on and off other than downstairs lobby and stairwell there is no mention of light switching and as I said not enough sockets throughout and no sockets at all in downstairs hall / lobby if that’s there quote? I’d correct my earlier post and say Deffo not an electrician up north or not its to cheap to much missing...

Well I would think it is fair to assume that it includes 1-way switching for the luminaires except in places where there is a surcharge for 2-way switching. He hardly means that switches won't be fitted!
• The downstairs lobby does not need any sockets as it is an upstairs flat, so main entrance door, tiny lobby and then stairs to the rooms

To me in terms of sockets it seems fine, why would I need more than 2 double sockets in a bedroom? I currently only have a lamp and alarm, sometimes charge my phone/tablet

Why because you say so? :rotfl:Good luck arguing that one in court etc ?
Is that how you’d quote nothing about materials, whose paying for them, if its surface whose making good (client says quote doesn’t ? )I see it as quote open to ripping off client unbelievable pricing from professional person?
Lots of assumption for quotes its the norm?????, Professional leaves nothing up in the air etc Even if by a miracle there not a con man what about if there unable to finish it get ill, etc Try claiming on insurance, through a governing body, courts etc for works not included in quote.....? There are tradesman and cowboys I know which I see this quote coming from endless ways to rip off client with quote as above if that’s how you’d do them then that’s your prerogative....

The quote looks fair, but you should make sure that all the quotes include Notification to Building Control. A qualified Electrician will normally belong to a Self-Certification Scheme that makes this straightforward for them, but you need to make sure you get the Completion Certificate from Building Control, and including the notification requirement in the quote should ensure this.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

No, but because he has clearly indicated a surcharge for two-way switching. So it is obviously implicit that 1-way switching is included.

And it's nothing to do with arguing it in court - we haven't seen the complete quote. I'm sure that is all specified in the smallprint. You have made the ridiculous assumptions here without any reason to assume them! We have just seen a snippit which shows what the OP is having done - it's not the complete estimate/quote.

I do agree that the price is a bit cheap though.
