Hell would freeze over before I would fork out over 1600 quid a year for Sky!
Glad I went with Freesat a year ago now. Paid a couple of hundred, got my money back within several months and miss NOTHING.
We get most of the channels SKY had, and have the record, pause, and rewind tv facility.
Don't have movies and sports.
Don't care.You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
I find it very anti MSE people forking out a TV licence and then paying well over £1,000 a year on top to watch TV. I guess the saying fools and their money soon part is alive and well.0

Scotty, you should definitely hold out for more than 35%. You also need to review if you really need all of it. As pointed out, do you really need all the multirooms? What about all the phone extras like voicemail? How many movies do you watch a month? How much sports do you watch?
I had movies and sports and was paying almost £100 per month. I realised I was mainly watching box sets and freeview channels and only watching a couple of movies and a couple of football matches a month, so I cancelled the lot and switched to BT. BT Sport gives me my football fix and I can always get a one day pass if there is a game on Sky that I can't miss. I've got Netflix to cover my boxsets and movies and I'm down to around £40 per month.0 -
As i have already said, been offerered 35% of tv package are they likely to offer the same discount for all services, phone broadband and multiroom?
Another thing i have noticed is that when i log into MySky and got my offers page i keep getting this message!!

They have been known to offer more.
What do you actually watch on Sky that you cannot get for free on other services?
I personally watch loads of movies but I watch them for free on the Amazon Fire Stick. I also watch TV shows for free after they've been shown on TV through the many apps that are available.
As I don't watch anything as it's broadcast I don't have a TV licence.
So...my total bill for unlimited broadband, TV (and that's HD and as many rooms as I want) and 3 mobile phone contracts with unlimited calls between them comes to £150 per year.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

...reading other threads at the moment, they don't seem to be discounting line rental altho' "free" broadband seems to be on the table. Also seems to be very hard to get any discounts on the HD pack or multiroom BUT is possible to get 50 or 60% discounts plus cash credit on the rest of the TV bits.scotty1971 wrote: »As i have already said, been offerered 35% of tv package are they likely to offer the same discount for all services, phone broadband and multiroom?

Personally I'm only keeping Sky for the Sports packs - unfortunately it is very difficult to find cricket or rugby on other services -and I'm not bothered about footy so BT of limited interest.! We get all our films via Kodi or Showbox on an Android box.:)0 -
That's because you're nowhere near the time to actually leave, if you'd waited until the 31 day period actually started then you'd get a better offer which is normally around the 50% mark.scotty1971 wrote: »As i have already said, been offerered 35% of tv package are they likely to offer the same discount for all services, phone broadband and multiroom?
