on sky chat and the advisor said this too me,not sure what it means
Your subscription is currently in minimum term until 20th June, so if you did decide to cancel, I would be able to apply the minimum 31 day cancellation notice period for the TV for that date, and the broadband and phone require a minimum of 14 days, however to avoid a loss of service and loss of your land line telephone number a new provider would need to perform an active line takeover0 -
It means that if you want to stop using Sky for your phone and broadband you need to sign up for a new phone/broadband provider and have them transfer the service so there will be a minimum of downtime.
As you are under contract until the 20th June you will need to wait for a bit to exit without any penalties.
The best way to get your Sky bill down would be to ditch the Sky TV as that is costing you a lot.0 -
will wait until my contract is up then cancel.thanks0

Contact them to cancel TV 31 days before June 20th, to make sure you give the proper notice.0

The best method for getting a Sky bill down is call their help line - select I wish to leave - give notice and actually leave. Your bill will reduce to £0.00 per month.0

I have already started the cancellation process,my sky services will terminate on the 20th june.0 -
When they contact you to make a further offer on the TV services, be prepared ! ie decide what you want to keep -eg do you need three Sky boxes, do you make enuf usage of them; do you need Films ? Do you need Sports? Also have a figure in mind for what the package is worth to you per year.
I have negotiated for the past 3 years after cancellation -I have had a target of £5 per week:) Last year I had to be more creative -I took an upgrade of package in exchange for a bigger % discount, bill credit and a new HD box - and ended up with the overall annual cost @ £258 ie less than £5 per week!:T
You have to be prepared to take it to the edge -haggle hard and if they won't get near enuf to your target amount -let the cancellation go thru'!0 -
There's already a couple of threads going on this subject with lots of advice. Getting a bit confusing having so many!0
