Thursday 14th March - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Hi April Awesome-ees,
Thanks to "dear" neighbour waking us at 6:30am moving his wheelie bin I am awake earlier than planned so have time for a wee post.
I am continuing the Great Big Canal Challenge today...hopefully it'll only rain gently.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Month Eleven:
* Grilled 8 sausages. 2 for my breakfast now, 2 for my OH's breakfast when she gets up, 4 to go in my pasta packed lunch for later (pasta, mayonaise, herbs, sausage).
* Dinner will be the sausage casserole I cooked on Tuesday so no need to use a lot of electicity cooking later.
* Will buy train tickets carefully so as to spend as little cash a possible and get the right balance of singles and returns on multi-stage journeys. Will travel off Peak to save £8.
* Checked bank balance. OK.
* Checked Nectar Points.
* Checked Payslip for tomorrow. OK
* Persuaded OH to take the car today and go shopping while I'm not using it, rather than to try and car share tomorrow.
* Contact man who's hopefully buying our old barbecue.
How about you guys?

Marriage Tax Allowance Tip
If you claimed MTA last financial year, you do not need to reclaim this month, you're claim will continue automatically.
If you're not claiming it you might want to have a look here and see if you want to. (Link) You could receive up to £432, and unlike most benefits/tax allowances, claiming is not complicated or lengthy.

Happy Thursday Frugal pals :hello: thanks for starting us Ally hope your walk is fun.
My Thursday will look like:

*meals from stores
*one thing of annoying thing/April list
*take door off in lounge and take to tip
*contact someone about fitting new door
*quick flylady of kitchen and bathroom

Q1 Any of you colour your own hair? I [STRIKE]would like [/STRIKE] maybe need to, but have never done it and certainly don't want to pay salon prices - any advice?
Q2 - we appear to have a family of Great Tits (I think) nesting in our wall above our overflow pipe from the bathroom. They are pulling insulation out of the house and discarding it. I'm quite happy for them to have a warm home and assume I can't move them anyway. Anyone had any similar experience? They'll have to go at some point as that is where we are building our extension so will no longer be an external wall. I assume they are nesting with young given the time of year.
TIA
