Bank made mistake with my offer.

On March 18th 2016 the Halifax sent me a letter to my old address to say they had made a mistake with my original Ppi and I was due a further £600.i thought great as I still have a few debts to pay. My dad gave me £600 and I was to give him this money back once I got the cheque. I contacted the Halifax on mon as cheque has not arrived and they apologised and said they had made another mistake with the second letter and I was only due £80 not £600. I have spent this money clearing a credit card! Any advice?

    Any advice?

Now you're not carrying a balance on your credit card, save up to pay your dad back. Perhaps also buy him a bottle of something to say thanks.

You can jog on with that attitude!
  • Sorry this is a serious forum where people air their issues in the hope that others can help them. I didn't post my comment for childish replys. I suggest you jog on to a site where trolls are welcome.

So - back to your issue.

You've borrowed money from your dad, hoping to pay him back from some money you thought you were owed.

Turns out you aren't owed this money now and you asked for advice.

My advice was that now you're not servicing a credit card debt, you have more disposable income so can save up more quickly to pay him back.

I'm failing to see why this advice doesn't work for you.

(Text removed by MSE Forum Team) could advise me where I stand on the fact that Halifax changed their minds 14 days after sending out an offer!:T
