Help!! Landlord wants to sell up

Hi all,
Last November (2015) my wife and I moved into a property after over 5 months of searching.
No we are both working people and pay our rent on time.

We have had issues with the house when we moved in (Not having heating for two weeks), broken fence, dodgey electrics and more.

Then yesterday the lettings agent called me and said we want to inform you the landlord wants to sell the property as her husband is ill and she needs to sell up to pay for his treatment.

I have two months to find somewhere and move it.

It's taken me 5 months to move in.

Any help or advice would be great

    Yes.

Find somewhere else to live and let the lady sell the house and pay for her husband's treatment.

He is obviously not in a fit state to be a landlord and take care of the property.

    So best for everyone.

    But its the OPs home.

It is unfortunate for the landlords but they should have considered all this before they choose to become landlords. If the situation was reversed and the OP or his wife became ill so they needed their rent money to pay for treatment, would the landlords say no problem just pay us where you are able?

Of course they will have to move out eventually but the landlords need to do it following the correct procedure and timescales.

Not the same thing at all.

Presumably the landlord is following the correct procedure and the two months notice is in their contract, otherwise I do not think the OP would be on here posting.

Personally, if I thought that by staying in a property and delaying the landlord from getting the treatment he needed made him worse or he died I could not live with myself.

Where are you living ? USA or Canada !
Round here we have the NHS for people who are ill.
Tell agent nothing and wait until you are served proper notice with s21.
Deposit protected and prescribed information given to you ?
Not your problem if someone is I'll.

So you think the NHS funds all treatment?

    Think again.

OP - do you have an assured shorthold tenancy? How long is it for? Does it have a break clause, and if so, what is the wording? Has the landlord issued you a valid section 21 notice?

The NHS is woefully inadequate in so many areas. Why would you want to be so difficult when someone is ill?

OP, you're going to need to move eventually, you can either do so with two months notice and on good terms with your existing landlord and agent, or make yourself thoroughly miserable and cause problems for others in the meantime. I know which option I'd pick.

Canada has socialized health care. The US as well for some people.
