The vast majority of tenants DO move like you said, what you're doing is criticising the small minority who don't for whatever reason.

No I'm not. I am fine with the small minority who need to do it doing it. I object to the default advice to everyone that gets posted here saying they should wait for a court order, when nothing they have said about their circumstances suggests it is necessary.
  • I do plan on leaving when they want me out, but ideally we have both settled now and my wife's work place is not far. I have arranged different hours at work and we are finally seeing a happy future in front of us.

I know both tenants and landlords can be dodgey, but I am glad to say I am in neither camp.

We are looking for places, and possibly looking to buy if I can find a good deal. I don't have a deposit but on moneysupermarket found a couple of companies that do First Time buyer 100% mortgages, it will still turn out to be under £450 which is a lot cheaper than the rent I am paying.

There may be light at the end of the tunnel.

Good Luck with the 100% mortgages

Moving from one rental property to another every 6/12 months is expensive and involves time off work looking for a new property and paying for all the checks.deposits, agency fees etc.
Redirecting the mail, Telling everyone your new address, DVLA, Employer, friends and family, insurance- Both Car and house, Phone and broadband, gas/electric/water and council Tax. NIGHTMARE !!
It is the same when buying and selling a property with the added fun of Stamp Duty for many people.
Once you have left the property who is going to pay the mortgage costs, the empty Council tax costs, gas/electric/water costs. Insurance of an empty property and repair costs????
Selling costs as the Landlords want to sell up to pay for private treatment.
What is clear is that the Tenant is going to be out of pocket having spent months finding a home, Signing a 12 months contract ( NO RENT INCREASE)
If they move out what is to stop the LL getting new tenants and asking for a higher rent.
Why rent out a property in November 2015 if they need to sell in March/April 2016

Not everyone, no. But often, yes. When they don't need to.

So why are you bothering to exercise your right to free speech?

Why bother with rights at all?

Actually most of the time it's you CAN wait for a court order, not should.

    Informing people of their rights.

Because life gets in the way.

My niece was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 31 in the February and had died by June.

Why can you not comprehend that "sometimes" and "always" are different things?

    Lets agree to disagree.

I understand your point, but I don't agree with it
