Beware EE delivery fraud via DPD
Hello, I wanted people to be extra careful when getting a new phone as this has happened to me today. I have complained to both EE and DPD and await their responses.
I ordered an upgrade via the phone with EE last week and got a text yesterday confirming that it will be delivered to my home address today. Fine as I have done this twice before over the past few years with no problems. At 7am this morning got another text, this time via DPD telling me that my phone will be being delivered to some random newsagents in Mitcham. I live miles away from Mitcham. As soon as EE customer services opened at 8am I called them. They said that DPD must have sent the text to me by mistake as their systems definitely showed it being delivered to my home address. They said for me to set my mind at rest by looking up the consignment number on the DPD on line system. I then went away and did this only to find it was saying that the parcel will be being delivered to the newsagents in Mitcham. I called EE straight back who after a bit agreed to call DPD to put my mind at rest. It turns out that last night someone logged into the on-line system using my unique delivery number and did indeed change the delivery address. Fortunately the phone had not yet been delivered so a stop has been put on the delivery and it will now been returned to EE and the thief will be empty handed and they are flagging it up as fraud. My phone has not left my side and I have not shared my delivery number with anyone so how on earth has someone been able to do this? Someone now has my personal details via the DPD site and I am fuming. I have to re order the phone tomorrow and go through the whole sorry process again. Be careful people.

How complicated is the DPD delivery number? Do you need anything but that to change delivery details on the DPD site?
Just wondered if someone was guessing number - I imagine you need more than that though?0
