Wednesday 13 April - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning all
Quick starter from me this morning before work. I feel better than I did yesterday but still really tired. Not enjoying early morning starts when it's cold and miserable - and it's cold and miserable outside this morning. I've had a rotten night's sleep as well - seemed to be up every couple of hours for one reason or another. Meh. Still - it's hump day though so should be on the run to the weekend from now. :j
Today's plans
 Check banking and PAD
 aim for nsd
 all meals from stores
 try not to get stressed apart from lesson 1 when I have to force Year 10 into a new seating plan
 no heating at home, apart from maybe 15 mins when we first get home tonight (due to rain all day)
 try and get dh to do something round the house before he goes to work.
 keep my time diary
 find some time to myself at the end of the day
 full day of teaching
 meeting after work
 try and mark a set of books
 write a list of things to do.
Best get on - have a good day everyoneNot giving up

Morning all,
Still reeling from car bill so planning a busy practical day progressing the veggie garden & doing sone jobs from my Annoying Things lists.
Blue sky & sunshine here now the chilly fog has lifted, so that is definitely helping.
Love to all,

Morning all :hello: thanks for starting us off cat lovely and sunny here this morning, if damp overnight. So I've hung washing done on cheap leccy overnight and stuck another in that DH can hang out when done. We're not forecast rain until mid afternoon so hopefully they will be quite try by then.
Foxglove know it's annoying about car, but think you did the right thing. Plus with your :money: you will 'make' it back in no time. Just think a few years ago it would have gone on a cc or something, so much headway from there My list for today will be :
Check banking, no pad as DH doesn't get paid until Friday so stretching until then, check surveys and FPL
Think about withdrawing p1necone money, not done this before how exciting - it's the small things
Meals from stores, tin of soup to work with lots of fruit and some ys bread product from freezer
Hot drink for commute
Print tax forms at work as our home printer isn't hooked up at moment. Get DH to email me his.
Once got above, upload them to banks server
Bump posts on local selling pages
Read martins email
One thing from April/annoying thing list - managed two yesterday
Check back later PF0 -
Purple Fairy - Thanks. I think so too. I was very irresponsible with money from age 19 to my early 40s when the famous LBM struck. 1 month after my 46th birthday, we became debt-free (apart from mortgage). Shortly after that, my car needed a new alternator. When I went to the garage to collect it, I was actually able to pay the £260 bill without using credit. I just can't tell you what that felt like after a lifetime of frittering money away. If you'd told me then that in a few years time, I'd have continued to change so much that I would find mysrlf able to pay a £906 car bill without borrowing, I simply wouldn't have believed it could be possible.
So I'm far from happy about it, but I know I"ll be putting all my mse skills into practice to replace the money.
And having said that, I'm off to sow some more seeds for future food!

Morning All,
Fingers crossed I will be viewing a property today. Done the school run with OH, so felt a little more at ease. He is at work until 6pm so will have to do the afternoon on my own slightly nervous/anxious. Again a morning spent job/house hunting and praying!
Hope you are all ok and thank you for your lovely support.DMP Started June 20160 -
Oooh, good luck with the propety viewing, MTC. And tonight when you collect your children, hold your head up high. You are not the one behaving like a loser here. So deep bteaths, best foot forward & maybe aim to make eye contact with & smile at 3 Mums you don't know. The more you try to be invisible on the school run, the more those bullies have won. Honestly, to have so little their lives that they get off on that! Pathetic bunch!
