Gers and Lainey, I agree the BSD is great, I was worried that I would be starving all the time and desperate for carbs, but I don't feel like that. In fact my worry now is eating enough - I was just setting off for a walk and suddenly thought that I hadn't eaten today.

No news to report - DD should get to Macchu Picchu today, I hope it's all she hoped for.

Speky, I love OJ v the people. I've become obsessed with the US justice system since watching The Good Wife. A couple of times we've thought that the plots on TGW were a bit far fetched but then we've googled and found out they are based on fact.

I got up early as painter was due around eight. The ceiling in master bedroom is all done and coat of white paint on walls waiting for the actual colour of paint to be put on. I eventually decided on egyptian cotton after a lot of dithering. Should be a nice neutral but modern colour and gives me more choices re decisions on curtains, duvet, bedside furniture etc.

Weight in tonight so had fruit for breakfast and will have a roll with lean meat and tomato for lunch with a yoghurt. Nipped out to the local shop and got milk, eggs, bin bags and a fresh chicken.

Nice day so hung on a load of washing so fingers crossed that it dries.

Hugs to gers,JackieO, judi and hilstep.

• Good Afternoon everyone, it's a lovely day here sunny and warm and I've been into town on the bus for a top up shop cold meat, cheese, fresh veg etc. It's so nice to be warm outside and not need a coat, everyone seemed to be enjoying the fine weather and was in a good mood. A couple of buskers in the high street were really talented, a good range though one man on a violin, a lad with a guitar and a nice voice and a lady opera singer, variety being all eh? Looking forward to my walk with the hound this afternoon and then a treat as we are going out for supper with my brother and DSIL for a meal to use some of the money we won on a card at the pub quiz, looking forward to that lots. Our T*sco seemed to have an offer on for GHEE at £2.50 if you're into Indian cookery and also the World Foods POLISH section has an offer on the jars of KEILBASA SAUSAGE at £1.70 and a couple of other meats in jars reduced too which I like to keep in the store cupboard as they make a nice base for a Bolognese type sauce for pasta.

LAINY Hope the livery yard stays intact and that you don't have to move Bill, fingers crossed for you both.

Have yourselves a really nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.

I became obsessed recently when I watched Making A Murderer. Then went on to House of Cards and OJ at the same time.

The West Wing is on my to-watch list after House of Cards, although TGW is now also on the shortlist.

Afternoon Everyone

Lainey - What a worry, hope you and Bill manage to avoid any disruption.
Welcome to Cafekate andMothershipa.
snoozer - I hope your DD enjoys her trip, fantastic how far she has come on.
Feel better soon Gers.

I stayed at DDs last night as we were at the ELO concert in Glasgow and jolly good it was too. The meal we went for was ok, glad it was a gift but disappointing. The food was nice but not really enough of it, any veg, etc, was charged at £2.95 per portion and 2 of the 5 things on the menu had a surcharge.

Today we paid a visit to the blue and yellow shed, DD bought some light fittings but they will have to go back as they are too big. I also helped her put some things up in her loft out of the way.

The weather hasn't been too good this week, I expected to have turned the heating off by now.

Speky, we're fans of House of Cards too. Just a warning it takes a few episodes of TGW to warm up, but it's worth it if only for the wonderful Levi played by Alan Cummings.

I want to watch Making of a Murderer but don't know if I can stand it.

redruby That's good news, I hope Evie improves quickly xx
I've watched some videos and followed them, Scampi just will not touch the bells. He doesn't seem scared of them though, they're hanging on the back door and he wanders over and sniffs them, making sure his nose doesn't touch them. When I spoke to the behaviourist a while ago about other things, she suggested reversing what you'd usually do to train a dog eg. instead of treating him when he's stayed calm near a stranger, treat him when the stranger is still in the distance so he associates strangers with good things. Pretty obvious once she'd said it but it wouldn't have occurred to me :D I'm just trying to work out how to do this with the bells, lol.

The video I watched said keep the bells out of the dogs sight while not training, I kept them on the counter, get them down once a day and hold the bell part in the palm of your hand and hold a treat up close to them, if the dog even sniffs the treat make a fuss and give the treat to them, keep repeating till he's got this bit. Put bells out of sight after.

Then touch the bells with your hand while saying 'ring the bells' if he touches it give him a treat, keep repeating this, I did this for about 5 or six times but in one session, put the bells out of sight after.

Keep this up for about a week or 10 days till the dog associates the bells with a treat, then hang them on the door and repeat holding the treat up to get him to touch, if he makes the bell ring make a big fuss and let him out, it will take a while but Evie rings every time she needs to go out now and it makes life so much easier, Good luck xx
