BA let us down again

BA are quite happy when anyone flies AA across the Atlantic, they still make their money on those tickets.
I find the AA frequent flyer programme works better for me than avios =as both are One World you can credit to either programme.AA redemptions have lower taxes too.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

Sure, you should be in whichever programme works better for you. My point wasn't about that though, rather that it makes no difference to BA (or AA, Iberia & Finnair) in terms of revenue whichever one you fly across the pond, they share revenues regardless.
Personally BA's programme suits me better, the benefits are pretty good for me and I don't fly enough US domestic to make use of the main upgrade benefits on AAdvantage. Also no free lounge access regardless of status when flying AA domestic if you're in their programme, though not a major deal as I don't fly a lot of domestic. The various programmes across oneworld are taking turns to devalue their offerings, you make the best of what's available.0 -

Both AA and BA have devalued recently so I think a comparison between the two is currently reasonable (though of course either one of them could devalue again at any time).
Though the last AA devaluation messed up my plans (I specifically started earning for a bargain they scrapped!), which goes to show you can never have any certainty in this field.0 -
I'm giving BA First a go in May using my avios for the first time - should be a nice treat...one of those times I wouldn't mind a delay if it means I'm stuck on the ground drinking champers and johnnie walker blue

Indeed, earn and burn (before a devaluation) is the mantra these days, and enjoy any applicable status benefits while they last.marsman802 wrote: »I'm giving BA First a go in May using my avios for the first time - should be a nice treat...one of those times I wouldn't mind a delay if it means I'm stuck on the ground drinking champers and johnnie walker blue
Enjoy, I hope the flight is from LHR T5 for that. T3 not quite as good, LGW currently not good for lounge provision (relatively speaking, of course).0 -

I do a couple of BA 1st a year. Laurent Perrier Grand siecle is very nice but I don't rate the CCR very highly other than that. The virgin clubhouse at LHR is better overall.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -
Yes I hear great things about the clubhouse and I've seen a few video reviews from travellers.
A few years ago I made the decision to start grabbing avios where I could so I don't have any Virgin points unfortunately so we'd have to pay cash or know someone on the inside to get in.
We're flying at 6pm on a Friday evening out of T5 - wanted to get a sensible flying time to enjoy an afternoon in the lounges/spa etc.
