You can also choose to use £20 notes to light cigarettes..

does that make it easier to light the cigarette? is it less effort? is someone lighting the £20 for me?

I know I can save money doing it myself. Just like I can save money a mountain of things to make my life really boring - not buying a coffee on way to work, buying lunch out, taking the car instead of bus

Check my thread entitled Egg card PPI reclaim - success in the Reclaim Bank & Credit Card Charges for a start. I had ZERO info for the account I was claiming PPI back from ... the onus is on your "lender" to come up with an account match using previous address data, your DoB & so forth, which should be sent to them in the form of a covering letter & the ombudsman PPI questionnaire (available freely online, & on MSE I believe).

    Worked for me, so CLAIM!!

    Totally wrong.
The onus is on you to provide the information, which you do by sending SAR and £10 to see what info they have left if you cannot remember account numbers.

In no universe is the onus on them.

Companies only have to retain info for as long as necessary, not a fixed amount of years [6 years is only a recommendation, not an instruction ], so they can destroy it if they wish. I expect we'll be seeing a lot of that happening after this.

  • Its worth calling them, I had a couple of loans back in the early 2000's Lloyds just sent a form out but did locate account numbers so was some help, and Intelligent Finance even told me I had PPI on one of the loans, so some companies are more helpful than others.
