I am sure that the British Diabetic Association cover diabetes related conditions as part of their insurance but it has been a while since I travelled abroad. It is worth finding the main Charity that deals with Asthma in the Uk and seeing if they have an inclusive travel insurance too.

We found good cover with Amex. I can't think that you would be able to exclude some but not all conditions. I would also be concerned that the insurance would link any incident to the uncovered condition.
Have you tried missing out a condition to establish whether any one of them in particular is costing so much as the devil is in the detail that is requested once the condition is declared.
I'm not advocating that you lie, however if the condition you want covered is the one bumping up the price then it's pointless excluding the others.

  • I think most insurers would want to assess your overall health risk, not just parts of it, so I think generally speaking, you'd be unable to exclude certain conditions.

But, read the questions they ask. Some may only want to know for instance, if you've seen anyone or been prescribed medication for a condition in the last 12 months., If you haven't, you don't need to declare it.

Many thanks for all the replies

    I do appreciate your time....

Will definitely try a few of the suggestions

found out by trial and error that having 5 courses of antibiotics for bronchiectasis in the last year is the bug bear,,
Even though the antibiotics work well, and are used at the start of a chest infection (to stop infection taking hold)
best quote for mild asthma and bronciectasis for 1 week in america is £280....

The only condition I reasonably need to be insured for is Osteoporosis....

Again many thanks for all of the replies
