Help to Buy ISA - not available for all conveyancers?

The solicitor/conveyancer I am using to purchase new house have said they cannot apply for my help to buy ISA bonus as they are 'not registered for the scheme'.

Did some digging and found this website https://www.helptobuyisaadmin.org.uk/
Which does say they do not need to be a member the scheme (named 'Lender Exchange'?) to apply but it will take longer. Told the solicitor this and linked to site and they still say they have to register.

Anybody know who/what is correct?

Wish they would have told me this before paying them to start searches etc...£550 we will miss out on.

Noticed other people on here having other problems redeeming the HTB ISA, typical of the government to make things difficult for us to get their cash...

TIA

You're right, they can claim the bonus without joining any scheme, but they do have to be eligible and accept the T&C of the scheme when they use the HTB claim website.
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

So either they are not eligible or don't want to agree to the terms then? Or they just don't understand the process.

Seems silly they wouldn't want to do it, surely every other FTB is going to have an HTB ISA to redeem soon.

    Annoying.

Anybody know any fast solicitor that does do HTB ISAS?
