in Water bills
Hello
I was wondering if anyone knew If I am allowed to remove a EverBlu Cyble Enhanced device that transmits meter readings to yorkshire water from a meter?
Reason I am asking is because I can not see the actual meter reading as this device sits on top it and i would like to check the meter myself.
I have paid over £2k in water bills in just 3 years and noticed that the last bill 7 march 2016 was estimated. Which I think is odd as they have one of these devices on it.

It may be that the communications have failed - ring your supplier.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I don't know about EverBlu but I had a Comma Fail with an electric smart meter.
Just shows the importance of reading your bill.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

You should still be able to physically read the meter with the device attached.
On ours, you can rotate the entire head of the meter around, with the device attached, so that a better view of the reading can be obtained - useful as it's situated in a tight, dark corner of a cupboard.0 -
You are not allowed to disconnect or remove the device. Its a very short range smart meter and occasionally because of holidays or staff shortages they will estimate. Its not a true smart meter like the gas/electric smarts and still needs someone to get in his car drive somewhere near the meter and pollute the air just to take readings of a water meter. They are a cheap fix and not worthy of the term smart meter. The meter is the property of Yorkshire Water and tampering with it is illegal. Just one estimate is nt worthy of questioning if the meter is functioning ok, if the next one is an estimate then that is the time to enquire if its working. You can still see the reading, maybe an extending mirror and a torch will help to see it if its in an awkward angle0
