    What motivates me?

I want to be able to stop lying awake at night worrying about how we are going to pay the next bill that comes throught the door

I want to be able to do some ofthe things that I have always wanted to do - i.e. travel to far flung places - life is for living not paying off CC's/loans

We want to start a family at some point in the near future so I want to know that I can afford to stay at home & not rush back to work because the bills need paying..

This is my motivation - hopefully already this month I have cut back our monthly expenditure by cancelling our gym membership and getting a council tax rebanding successfully this week!!
  • What has motivated me into getting my debts paid off is the fact that im moving out of my parents next summer after i graduate. All i have is my overdraft which i stupidly squandered when i got it.

i dont want to move out with a huge debt, i want to start as i intend to carry on. I'll have rent, bills, food, council tax etc to worry about in less than a years time and it would be stupid to go into all that already in debt now wouldnt it.

I would also like to have to worry less about every penny that goes out of my wallet. Thats a loooong way off but its a nice thought

  • I'm like many others and I am fed up with money ruling my life entirely. I want to be able to budget for everything instead of flying by the seat of my pants. I am not after 'things' per se as I have realised from LBM that 'things' don't matter if they aren't bought and paidfor ( or gotten from freecycle for nothing :rotfl: ). I am paying for 'things' that have been binned!! I just dont want to do it any more. xx

    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.

i just spotted that my "thread-mate" Millionaire put something on this thread and thought i'd follow suit!

i would like to be able to spend MY money on things that my future hubby and i really want - like a new house with a garden and somewhere to hang
washing out and have friends round in the summer. isn't it weird that i want to be able to put washing out?!!!

i also want to be able to afford to buy clothes in shops other than primark or a supermarket or a car boot sale or ebay. my wardrobe is full of my boyf's hand me down t shirts.

i am 26 and i want to be able to look and act my age, not counting pennies to pay off my debts and having to decline nights out with friends.

also want to be able to have kids (after my nights out of course) without having a jolly old debt hanging around my neck.
