It doesn't say give them three sack fulls of cash!

You seem to have quoted something I didn't say and then added a comment that doesn't even seem to relate to the made up quote:huh:

Do you make this up as you go along?

Maybe manufacturers should design their cars better and put the cills on the roof to keep them away from those pesky wheels.

actually many moons ago i took a
Honda Quintet in p/x automatic with the * overdrive if anyone remembers them well this car had lots of mot and tax so it became my daily user,i went on a long trip in it in really bad rain and the sills filled up with water from the rear tyres as it was indeed a fault at manufacture on this car as the grubber rommets werent good enough
you could hear the water splashing about and then it entered the car floors
once i got back to work and cleared the water out gallons came out

    Thanks for all the posts

Just to update finally tracked down fella who quoted £100 to weld the hole in my car after inspecting it

Oddly enough took to couple other garages who for some reason disagreed with the MOT failure saying they wouldn't have failed it but given an advisory!

Oh well seems like MOT passes/failures are pot luck! One thing is for sure, I wholly trust the garage that failed my vehicle since have used them for long time, they declined to do the welding work since not worth their while and therefore were not failing it to generate additional work

Will update all on how I got on once the car has been repaired

    Cheers all

    Final update

Got the car repaired yesterday, chap charged £100 for welding sealing work + £100 to get rear both rear arm trailing bushes replaced since failed MOT on these items.

Once work completed, took car to get fresh MOT and all good it passed, so outlay of £235 all done (£35 MOT fee). Chap said the two items I had work done on are very common problems with older Honda's

Hopefully this will be useful for someone reading this post who might find themselves in similar position

    Cheers

A lot of it is open to interpretation and some testers are stricter than others. The guy is use is a tyrant (and that's why I use him).

Glad you got it sorted for a reasonable price. Well worth sticking with it :)
