In a piskle about my living room wall colour.

I bought some paint from Homebase that was charted in their Dulux paint range as Cracked Clay. I thought it would look good. I've done two walls with it, thinking it would dry to a greyish colour, or funnily enough 'clay' colour. It didn't. Its faint pastel pink. Very slight. I don't want my living room to look feminine and was thinking instead of re-doing the walls, pair the pink with a grey colour on the front wall. Guess I'm just looking for any advice from any males who have pink in their living rooms, and how it turned out. Does it work with greys? Is it too girly? That sort of thing. Thanks

If you are not happy with it and assuming it is dulux paint you have bought, take a look at the Dulux paint g'tee scheme. If I recall, they will let you have another tin for free if you don't like the colour, but you need to write them a letter!

Its an odd one and the reason why I just can't make my mind up. During the day, when light is coming in through the window, it looks pink, but at night when the lights are on its a greyish/green colour which is fine. I'm just wondering if the light brown flooring is reflecting the daylight to make it appear pink. It looks pink in the tin, but in the paint chart its classed as a white or cream.:wall:0

All colours, even whites and creams contain different pigments.
The question is really whether it goes with what you have rather than feeling worried about your sexuality and how people perceive you. That's just weird!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

That really has nothing to do with it. I'm doing the place up and already have an interested party. I don't need it looking pink. I need it looking neutral.0

See if it looks pink in the daylight with all the lights on. If it doesn't, leave it aloneNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Ok, if you click link, then click on the white square at the far right of the spectrum, then click on 'show more(42)' then click on the 5th square in on the 4th row down.
Tell me what colour that is. I think its pink0 -
Cracked Clay 3?
Looks grey with a hint of pink, I do see what you mean. But what colour is shown on the screen is different to that shown in the book/label which is different to that of the paint itself! How many coats have you done? I always reserve judgment until at least the 2nd coat as the 1st isn't usually uniform/perfect, and allowed at least 24hrs to fully dry.
Most of my rooms are '50 shades of beige' (soft stone, muddy puddle, soft truffle...) usually with a striking feature wall. One of them does have a very very sligh pink-ish hue (cant remember which colour it is now) which I didn't see on the label, book or even the tester pot but I lived with it because by the time I noticed I had already done a 2nd coat on all 4 walls and I could not be bothered to 'fix' it and it does not look too bad once I re-furnished it.
Paints can be funny, it all depends on the wall, what its covering, light entering the room, light bulbs and even furniture can affect the finish appearance so its quite difficult to know exactly how pink your walls are!
If you are that bothered by it and not sure, then I would consider just swapping the colour rather than attempting to live with it as its the best time rather than getting everything back in....0 -
Most of those greys are pink based for me.
What they look like on a screen and on a wall are quite different. White Cotton looks less pink, but screens can differ. Go and take a look at a colour card.
Perhaps try a few match pots. Let them dry and compare.0 -
