Routing suggestions - UK to Yangon, back from Hanoi

The return journey on Cathay Pacific from Hanoi to Manchester with one change in HKG is good. With the outbound, consider getting a day room at the Regal airport hotel at HKG.
Emirates or Qatar airways could be good with a sleep sector in business class.
I keep on coming back to the Cathay option. Emirates would be ideal if I could get the second leg of the outward journey in business, but it forces me to book the whole outward route in the same class, and becomes too expensive.
I was looking at the Regal day rooms as an option, but they don't show any availability for Feb 2017- don't know whether they just won't let me book that far in advance, or if a large convention is on.
Nearly had a route via Copenhagen with SAS, which was a very good price for SAS Plus to Hong Kong, but it leaves me booking separate flights to/from Hong Kong, which Mrs Shimrod has now ruled out as too risky to holiday time.
Couldn't get ITA Matrix to give me any routes for BA - while I could book a return to Yangon, or return to Hanoi, I can't fly to one and out the other with BA.
One other possible is Vietnam Airlines return to Hanoi, with a separate return Hanoi-Yangon the following day. If I do that from London, it is a single direct flight - I've flown short haul with VN but I recall the long haul reviews are a so-so.0 -
If you call Emirates they may do split class ticketing.
The Regal may give you more information if you e mail them.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Update: Booked Cathay Pacific to Yangon, with a room at the Regal for the 14 hour layover. Nearly went for the Ho Chi Minh option, but it didn't give much leeway for delays on the Manchester flight, and the extra onward flight to Yangon for two cost more than the hotel stay.0

Good to hear the Regal could offer a day room.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
