Drifting in a Sea of Debt

Back from my work trip and my mileage claim came to £188.55 all told :j Hopefully this will land in my bank account tomorrow so I can pay my bills account back the £81.40 I borrowed to pay the car insurance and stick £40 back on the Tesc0 credit card to cover the petrol cost. That will leave me with £67.15 which I'll dump into my motoring account.
Nothing else to report really. I feel like I'm just marking time until payday now. 2 weeks and countingIf you can dream it, you can do it - Walt Disney0 -
Back in March, when DS asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day, I (stupidly) asked him for a car cleaning kit so that I could save the £3 a time that I pay to put the car through the car wash. What was I thinking!! Have just spent nigh on 3 hours cleaning it and I'm exhausted!!! The kit comes with upholstery cleaner, glass cleaner, bug and tar spray, alloy shine and back to black tyre stuff... among a whole host of other things. Really??? Who on earth needs/has the time/can be bothered with all that shenanigans??!
My brain is telling me that it's very MSE to clean your car yourself... but my body is saying just go back to paying the £3 and stick it through the car wash :rotfl:If you can dream it, you can do it - Walt Disney0 -
Got up super early today to jump online and see if my expenses were in my account. Thankfully they were and harmony once again reigns in the Bones household
Everything is paid, back on track and up to date so all I have to do now is pootle through the next 2 weeks until payday. I usually food shop once a week with a £15 budget but Tesc0 have very kindly sent me a voucher to get £6 off a £40 shop so I'll do a 2 week shop with that tomorrow and stock up on a few bits that are running low (coffee, rice and pasta mainly). I think I can live with going £4 over budget to gain £6... although I'm determined to spend £4 less on the next shop to make up for it. I think I've finally come to understand that if you want to win the war with debt and actually hang on to your money then budgets need to be stuck to. So there's no more willy nilly spending for me. Going forwards, budgets will be set and strictly adhered to. It's the only way.
Have a super duper day everyone... it's Friday... Yippeeeee!!!!!:j:beerIf you can dream it, you can do it - Walt Disney0 -

10 more days till payday and I have just £57.66 left in my bank account. Which is weird because at this point in the month I'm usually lucky if I have £30 left. There must be something that I haven't accounted for... but I can't for the life of me see what it is. I guess I'll just have to hang on to this excess for the time being and keep a close eye on my account to see if anything goes out that I'd forgotten about. If you can dream it, you can do it - Walt Disney0

Found out where the excess money came from. When I went on my work trip I wasn't around to do the weekly food shop (£15) and I didn't put my weekly (£15) petrol allowance in the car. I put £40 of petrol in the car using the Tesc0 CC and paid this back when my were expenses were paid. So I do indeed have a spare £30 this month. Woohoo!!! It's the first time in a long long time that I've had 'spare' money... so much so that I have no idea what to do with it :rotfl:If you can dream it, you can do it - Walt Disney0

Can't quite believe that my debt free day has finally arrived. As of today I am totally debt free! Woohoo!!! It would have been yesterday but my internet banking was pretty much down all day and wouldn't let me make the final payments  But today the deed is done and that's it, I no longer owe so much as a 1p to anyone :j :j: :j
