Pallets for a log burner

We got some pallets the other day and been breaking them up to sizeable chunks for a log burner, are they okay for burning, we cant see any chemical applied to them. So came with chipboard blocks (the bits that are in the middle) which we throw away. One was heavy heavy and very dirty, we got told by a company we can help ourselves as there is no recycling of them.

I did exactly the same about two weeks ago, i was soon regretting not buying some smokeless fuel. If i hadn't put it out the fire brigade may have popped their heads roung my back garden.

I got one of these today off Ebay its a moisture meter to detect moisture of wood, walls etc, works great, so now I know how wet the logs are
