Ours are finished with hard wax oil. Looks much nicer IMO.0 -

That's ok with a solid oak door but it doesn't seal it and may cause delamination.0 -

The manufacturers of our doors specifically recommend a hard wax oil finish (they recommended Treatex or Osmo Polyx, we used the former).0 -
Most pre finished doors are factory sealed with UV cured laquer.I always use varnish as grain on the edge will sand smooth after being sealed0
