Sorry, but you are wrong.
Look at one of your receipts. You have not bought tickets from National Rail Enquiries.
Read Pompeyrich's post immediately before yours where he explains that.0 -
You can select tickets through the app but to complete the transaction it directs you to the relevant train company's page and it's them who sells you the ticket.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

Are you sure it's not one of the Train Companies?0 -
Can you check your booking confirmation does indeed state the retailer is National Rail Enquiries?
Are you sure it's not one of the Train Companies?
Pedantic or what ! what does it matter which bloody train company is involved in my purchase. I go on NRE, get the best price and times, click on buy tickets, and collect it at the terminal if I like .I m not going through some third party website who ve jumped out of the ether trying to make a commission am I ? I m sure NRE will get a small commission in this transaction. Either way, it works seamlessly and is over in seconds.NRE is the booking office on behalf of all the actual train operators for my journey.0 -
NRE is, itself, a "third party". I'd go directly to a train company website. Or Trainsplit (which won't charge any fees unless it finds a cheaper split, and if it does, it will pass on 90% of the saving, retaining 10% of the saving as a fee)
There is no benefit to going through NRE.
NRE is not a "booking office". As for whether it matters which company website you use... you're right, it usually doesn't matter, but it can for some journeys.0 -

see what I mean by pedantic..NRE are the "official " website for all train time info not some one of these website charging fees and what does it matter that after getting all the advice for times and prices you carry on and buy the ticket in advance. You are just making spurious points for no other reason than to be pedantic in the extreme. Now you re being silly over the phrase "booking office " OMG I think I will butt out of this forum section its full of public transport railway geek types. I m only interested in cycling anyway, I m not a railway buff prat. Its a pity the cycling forum has to be lumped into joining you lot of pedants and your boring time tables and railway rules. We need a separate forum heading with other active keep fitters. Its weird why someone over at MSE forums should think that cycling and public transport should be together, we should nt be mixing with you lot on the buses and trains anyway.0 -

You do know it's ok to be wrong once in a while, don't you?
Throwing abuse around is the childish stuff.0 -

Please do, given your obvious dislike and disinterest in anything to do with public transport one has to wonder why you bothered to post in the first place, wasting not only your time but ours.0
