Talk Talk moving house contract

I will be moving home in the next month or so. I am with Talk Talk on an 18m contract, not long renewed.
When I tried to put in the details on their internet house move, (to see if it was available at my new address), it appears I will be charged £47.70 per month, for exactly the same services I receive now. No discount will be given.
I currently pay £38.95 for 12m, then £43.95 for 6m. TT gave a discount if I agreed to stay with them for another 18m - half price line rental for the duration of the contract and £5 off the super-fibre for 12m of the 18m contract, this contract ends 04/07/2017.
As I am taking the same services and have been a loyal customer of TT for the past 5 years, why is that discount /contract not carried over? - especially as I was given it, to stay with TT for another 18m.
If I have to open a new contract through no choice/fault of my own, surely I should have the option of leaving TT with NO PENALTY/EARLY EXIT charge? - as the previous contract with discounts, will have been made null and void by TT not myself.
Please advise where I stand.
Thanks
Helen

You are breaking the contract not TT.
They supply the service at X address you contracted to its you that's moving .
TT are entitled to ask for the full balance of the contract .
See multiple identical posts on the board .
Usual not to charge this outstanding balance if you take out a new contract with them at the new address .0 -
Can you tell me why the contract is classed as being broken because I am moving house?
Why are the same services not able to be transferred on the same contract? - after all, I would be using the same equipment and using the same services, just at another address.
Have I understood it correctly therefore, that they are able to charge me an exit fee/or the total remaining amount of the contract if I move house and don't want to stay with them because they want me to start a new more expensive contract?
Is this a normal occurrence with all broadband providers?
Thanks0 -
Says it should be free http://help2.talktalk.co.uk/moving-home-talktalk-1
I'd ring them and talk to them.0 -

The contract is at X address not nationwide .
You are the one choosing to move .

Move and start a new contract yes.
But as said negotiate with them .
You can cancel current contract and pay the balance .
Move to new house entitles you to look at ISPs deals as a new customer .0 -
Have you actually talked to them about this? I'm with sky and am moving, I'm out of contract but continuing with them as I want to see how good the interenet is there before haggling and getting tied in. I just have to pay £35 fee to move my sky, phone and interenet over with no changes to my bills etc. I did all mine over their live chat and was very easy to sort out, well assuming they come next week like planned.MFW OP's 2017 #101 £829.32/£5000

Hi
thanks for the help.
Yes I've spoken to them, they are now saying once I have the actual moving date, I can ring them and discuss other discounts with the home moving team.

Almost all providers do this except for Sky-why would they give you a free home move only for you to give notice a month later? It will also depend on whether TT are available LLU on the new exchange, if it's a different one.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Hi helens1,
There is no charge for a home move. When a home move order is placed a new contract is entered, all available discounts and offers can be discussed when placing the order. I hope this helps,
Thanks
