Can anyone tell me how it took for their giftcard to arrive once the switch was complete please?
I applied back in March... switch finally happened on April 22nd. I was told I will definitely qualify for card plus monthly top-ups but I still haven't received it. It's a good job I don't intend to use this account as this is the slowest bank ever and their online service and app are dire!
  • I completed the switch on 1st March, the gift card arrived on 24th.

My switch completed on 5 April. I received the gift card in the post on 30 April. If your switch completed on 22 April, the T and C's give them until 22 May to get the gift card to you. Experience suggests that you will get it a few days before this, so don't despair.

If you applied for your new account prior to 6 April (as it seems you did), you will be in line for the initial £100 PLUS monthly top ups of £10 for 12 months (total £220). You don't need to wait to get your gift card to get organised for that. You start to earn monthly top ups during the first calendar month AFTER the switch completes. That will be May for you. You need to deposit £1000+ in the account during May. If you do, you will be credited the first £10 top-up onto your card on 15 June. Ditto in June, if you credit your account with £1000+ during June, the top up will be credited on the 15th July. And so on.
  • PS I should have added that you need to keep 2 DD's active on the account to get the monthly top-ups.

Within one calendar month of the switch completing

I applied for the account on 4 Apr and then started the switch process on 20 Apr (ie. that was my first call to them requesting a switch). My switch date was 11 May, all has gone smoothly and I have opened the Reg Saver too.

But on the phone call on 20 Apr the lady told me about the £100 gift card but when I mentioned the extra £10 a month she said I was too late for that. I'm sure when I applied on the 4 Apr the offer was still available as I went via MSE and remember reading it on the page there.

So to qualify for the extra £10 did the account have to be applied for, opened or started the switch process by the date it was withdrawn?

I suspect with these things it is the date you apply for the account that matters - if so should I write or email them?

It's the date when you applied for the new current account that matters (see post #5 above). I think the terms changed on 6 April (not 100% sure of that). I think you should write to them and ask if you are entitled to the old terms, that is, £100 on completion of initial switch and then £10 per month for 12 months.

    quoting from the t&C
You will qualify for the switching offer if you ... successfully apply for a Qualifying Account between 5 January 2016 and 5 April 2016 and that account is subsequently opened by us ...

let me know if you want a copy of the full t&c.

You should have received an email confirmation when applying, so if that is dated the 5th I would say you have a fair complaint.
