I was told dogs often get sick on car journeys when they're young - can't remember exactly but something to do with their ears and balance – and most grow out of it. He's 20 months now and it's still happening. He's much better in the van, there are only front seats and the back is blocked off so the space inside is smaller. He must feel a bit more secure in a smaller space so I've bought a canvas crate. It's in the lounge at the moment, I put it together and said 'ooooh look, a tent for you', 'look at your lovely tent' etc. This carried on for a while and then later on I asked him where his tent was, he trotted over and got in :D He's put a toy in it, I'm hoping he'll lie in it occasionally (if not, I'll bribe him!) and when he's used to it I'll put it in the car and see how he gets on.
That sounds wonderful! I hope he takes to his tent; often (speaking from experience here) car-sickness is due to the eyes and balance centres in the ears not agreeing on the information they're receiving, so if Scampi can't see all the stuff whizzing past the car, maybe he'll have a better time of it on journeys.:o

Going to take Evie into work today to meet everyone, the clients will love her, we think we have worked out that she is allergic to wheat, she had some dog food with pasta in and her eyes flared up again, so will try her without for a few days to see if it helps.
Not an uncommon allergy in dogs - there are wheat-free dog foods on the market, and they wouldn't make them if there weren't dogs who benefit from them, so hopefully you've found the problem, and will be able to keep her well by avoiding wheat. :o

Lamewolf Long time no speak, Hello to you.
What-ho Moorhen

Excess-water-begone vibes for Mr Candlelight.

Gotta go, I have to pack Jack's bag ready for him to go home.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Thanks all. It's about 8.15am in Dubai and I survived the longest part of the journey. Now I'm eating poached eggs and marmite soldiers!

Judi - I hope you feel better now you're back at home. Being so far away is always awful.

Now for a pot of tea.
