How often do you eat out, and how much do you spend on average?

Mmm about once a week £120 for the 2 of us BUT my husband writes a food blog and goes out for meals a LOT and spends far too much.0

I would say between £15 and £40 for an evening meal (including drinks and service), with around £30 on average.
Anything from 0 to 5 times a week. My friends and I have very busy lives, so if it turns out they all fancy meeting up in the same week, I'm quite happy to eat out 5 times, and conversely, if we're all tied up, I may not eat out at all. The bulk of my disposable income goes on food.
I won't eat in a chain without a deal or discount card (I would feel cheated paying full price in Pizza Express, wouldn't you?) and I sometimes use Tastecard or Open Table. For me, value for money is important rather than the price in isolation.0 -

In the week we will go on deals. Cinema on the meerkats, then a meal on a voucher or taste card.
Never make chips at home, but treat ourselves when out. Trouble is, we do eat out increasingly often.
Have found our Gourmet and taste cards invaluable. We do meerkats as well, and then often pop to Pizza Express afterwards for a 241 deal or similar.
We eat out a fair bit as well. It's one of life's pleasures.:) It's budgeted for though.0 -

I wouldn't eat in a chain without having some kind of voucher/ discount either. I wonder if anyone does?0 -

Breakfast or lunch out on a Saturday usually, maybe £20-£30.
Out for a meal, just me and the wife as son has moved out, somewhere nice, maybe £60-80 for the two of us every other week on average.
Carry out, maybe once a week on average.
I'd forgotten about take always. We usually have Fish and chips or Indian food every 4-6 weeks or so.0 -
Generally once a month, but more often during holidays.
£20-£30 for two of us. Usually just have a main course each, either with extra side/s to share or less often a starter. Tap water. Just because that's what we prefer to drink with a meal, so it's a bonus that it's free!
More regularly, like every other week we may have a small thing out like takeaway, fish and chips etc. for lunch. If we've gone shopping on that weekend or something. But that's never more than a tenner for the two of us.
So a monthly average of about £45 is probably the most we'd spend for the two of us over a year eating away from home.
Generally if we're visiting somewhere like the beach, or going for a walk in he moors, or visiting National Trust property etc. then we'd take our own packed lunch and drinks with us.Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

We used to eat out a lot more than we do now. We were just finding it more and more expensive and, to be honest, a lot of the time the food wasn't that good. It annoys me to pay for a meal that I know we could cook as well, if not better, at home.
We are both vegetarian so if we do eat out it is usually indian as they cater well for veggies and their food is more exciting than some of the offerings by pubs.
There is a completely vegetarian indian restaurant in London we go to almost every time we visit London (about once a month).
We are more likely now to have breakfast out at the weekend or lunch. The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
Very rarely, normally for just special occasions, like family birthdays and Christmas.
We spend anything from £40 - £60 a time.
I do begrudge the cost of eating out, I can always think of so much more that I can do with the money, and we prefer to prioritise on spending on daytrips out with the family, or putting it towards 'experiences'.0 -
I have about one takeaway per year too .... so when I said my eating out bill was max £25/year, that was for sitting down and eating. My takeaway spend per year's about £8.
So £33 all in, per year, for all food I go out to collect, or sit down and eat.0
