Thanks for all the helpful replies re Liverpool hotel. Going to look into them :) xx

yes I think this is going to be a knotty problem that might need some working on.

I think its going to be an expensive weekend. I had a look at Premier Inn and they don't seem to be as close in the city centre as Travelodge but both chains are quite expensive on a Saturday night. The 4 or 5 Accor hotels are even worse so it looks unlikely that they will come up on the Accor happy Monday list

are you in the car or on the train?
from which direction - north or south?
is it a weekend away or just a day appointment or are you doing things in the day and also the evening?

just wondering if its cheaper for you to stay closeby but not in Liverpool itself eg Liverpool during the day and then train to x overnight close by and then setting off for home next day?
it depends on what direction you are coming from.
For instance Chester premier inn close to the rail station, seems to be significantly cheaper than Liverpool - direct train to Liverpool.

a couple of years ago some friends wanted a day in Liverpool so they came up from London on a London Midland train (cheap fares but very slow) had their day out in Liverpool and then came back to Crewe for an overnighter stay because the Crewe hotel was about half the price of a Liverpool one

    some lateral thinking needed :D

its a pity about this - some nice hotels on the list

maybe they will extend the offer again ...

Fourp's brother has at last spoken with relatives regarding the scattering of Mr & Mrs Fourp.
So we are planning on taking them up the Great Orme & releasing them soon :)

Mr 3Dogs ashes are still at undertakers as I can't decide what to do with them. Certainly nowhere down here as I do plan to move up to Tyneside again at some point, but struggling to think of where best to scatter them up 'home'

Glad you sussed out that bird dealer Enterprise :T What about checking if any bird rescues in your area, or I agree with suggestions of checking with local vets

Snap and AJ, that realisation that comes of role reversal of you being the adult and parents the child, is a shock when it arrives, and a great responsibility, carried out with love

And while I'm at it, well done, as expected, to the Elite in coming together in such a wonderful way, for Rhosynbach's daughter's wedding. I have a few bits here and still checking for more so will send them to you Rhosynbach in a few weeks. So far a lovely Colclough milk jug, 5 Apostle tea spoons, a large oval serving plate, plus some saucers and tea plates (cups cracked unfortunately)

Oops, and thinking of you FC, so glad you have the chance of the cancer drug trial. Hope it works out for you

3dogs....thank you for your post...part of it rings true and clear with me and I'm glad we seem to not be the only ones who have yet to decide on resting places for loved ones.

Your post has bought a little clarity to me that reinforces the belief I have that when the time is right the answer will come...thank you so much for calming a potential anxiety with just a few words x
