:D:DDoing well thanks. Physiotherapists at last have started coming to him at home. First time he has stood since February :)

:) Yesterday was the first time he has left the house as he had to go to Guildford Hospital about his blood cancer.
Hospital transport couldn't find house so already 1 hour late :o
Got him to hospital & then wanted their wheelchair back... Dad can only transfer on an etac rotunda thingie. So Mum, Dad, hospital transport staff spent the next hour visiting every ward to find an etac ..... Mum exhausted as they covered at least 50 miles between wards :o:o
Then after spending all day there for one 15 minute appointment - they then had to transfer him back to transport wheelchair - luckily the staff manually heaved Dad into it rather than go off on the hospital marathon again.
So they had a day out :rotfl::rotfl:

Mum is now going to buy their own wheelchair :)

I was reading the other day about doctors doing Skype consultations - for routine follow up or check up visits like this one they would be perfect and would save so much hassle and time - docs could ask all the routine questions, you can shown them your new lumps, bumps and rashes and then book you an appointment with whatever specialist, write or email your GP, order blood tests etc

:) Many thanks. He is getting a powered wheelchair but it will be 13 weeks from when he left hospital.
Mum did borrow a manual one from Red Cross but took it back when he bought the powered chair (that he can return for a refund when he gets his own)
So they just need a folding up one.
They are some cheap used ones on eBay I might point Mum to:)

Can I be rude and ask what sort of price powered chairs are? Are they battery operated or plug ins?
Friends of ours the lady has artificial limbs but she also has a manual chair and her OH finds it really exhausting pushing her about, I don't know why they have not thought about powered ones

Wheelchair services in my area take about 1 year to get you an electric chair from when you originally order it and that's why we are ordering ds3 1st electric chair now:o:o

:) Loads on eBay, if you put in your postcode for a local search you may find a good second hand deal.
We bought Dad's from local mobility shop for £400 - it's a Pride one
But loads cheaper on eBay. Our problem was finding a left handed controls one

Don't know whether that is good that you are ordering one in readiness or bad that you need to plan ahead.

A bit of both :eek: but we have always got everything he would need in place early eg buying a new house getting bedroom and wet room for him about 5 years before he needs it so when he comes off his feet he doesn't think he's being punished by having to have a bedroom downstairs as well :o:o A lift was never an option for as as they are slow and break down:eek::eek:

I am crossing all fingers and toes that this one gets extended as my local small store does not have them but I am near a bigger one on Thursday

I like the sound of the savoury scones

Please can I ask these bread mixes what do you need to add to them - is it just water?
    pk04 wrote: »
Per T's website - you will need water and olive oil, possibly some melted butter/flour for brushing/dusting but I imagine you could get away without these.

The garlic & herb is rather nice (although I didn't make it :o)

I must admit it's so hit and miss what each T stock. No Danepak for me unfortunately. Hopefully they will extend the offer so you can find them.

The scones need an egg, butter and milk, and extra cheese if wanted
Barm cakes and white plait need olive oil and water
Garlic and herb tear and share needs olive, and melted butter
Rosemary and tomato needs olive oil, water and flour for dusting

I won't be making any just yet as they aren't very good when I'm on slimming world:rotfl:

I will let the dd's make some bread rolls at the weekend. Everything tastes so much nicer when it's free:T
