Parking Ticket in my own space!

And therein lies the rub ... it actually DOESN'T work, except perhaps for 2-3 weeks after a PPC first comes in. After that the ONLY way a PPC gets any revenue is by "fining" people who ARE perfectly entitled to park there.
And when such a person appeals a PCN the PPC doesn't care that they are entitled to park there - the PPC simply wants their money.
And that only applies for PPCs who actually have "boots on the ground" ... PPCs who use ANPR cameras (many of them) aren't actually managing parking at all; they're just recording which vehicles have been on site and for how long.0 -
Its a pure filthy money making scheme akin to straight theft by fraud.I work for British Gas reading residents meters. For many years I can remember local council parking wardens have allowed us to park up in residential roads visiting all the properties. Fast forward to money grabbing UK and now with ignorant privatised wardens swanning around on bonus for tickets I m now reduced to finding a car park miles away. I ve had two tickest last year and even on appeal I get rejected. Theft by fraud IMOAnd therein lies the rub ... it actually DOESN'T work, except perhaps for 2-3 weeks after a PPC first comes in. The last two apartment blocks I lived in also had allocated spaces. We didn't have car parking management though - in the first instance you discussed disagreements with neighbours and then escalated to building management.
Here are the facts.
1. There is no mention of car parking management in the tenancy agreement - only that we have a dedicated space.
2. The landlord and estate agent never mention a CPM. Called the estate agent last week - they don't know anything about it.
3. When we moved in there were no CPM signs anywhere - the development was just being finished. There are signs up now but there weren't then, and I have photographic evidence to prove it.
I'm wondering who else in our development has fallen victim to this. I'm thinking of putting up notices to see if other people are in a similar situation.0 -

Did those roads have parking restrictions? If so, I don't see why you are different to anybody else?0 -
You parked where there are parking restrictions without displaying a valid permit. A parking officer caught you, took photos, evidence, completed paper work etc, then expect them to cancel the ticket? They have admin charges the same as anybody else (call insurance and change car on policy, costs money).
You could go on doing that everyday, along with everyone else who has a spot. The company, in my eyes, is fully within it's rights to charge you still given you have added to their costs by not displaying your permit.0 -
Even if they have no contractual obligation to display it? (In respect of the OP - it's not clear who you are replying to). Any costs incurred by CPM were of their own making.0

Yes but there was nothing in my lease contract that said I had to take the bins onto the back street for the bin men to take away my rubbish. Doesn't mean I can complain when they didn't go into my yard to get them does it?
There will have been signs up I assume stating that the parking is controlled...as per other car parks.0 -
And what right does the parking company have to charge the OP for parking in their OWN space regardless of whether they display a permit, paint their car with gold glitter or any other arbitrary rules they make up?
Should you have to pay if a company decide set up a permit scheme and invoice you for parking on your own property?
Your right, get rid of the parking permit and let anyone park there
