I am sick, but I also used two periods in the last 12 months. I am now wondering when a job seeking period starts and ends.

If you read the link pmlindyloo posted for an extended period of 13 weeks you would need a sick note from the doctor.

I know that, but my question is still about when a jobseeking period starts and ends.

Well only you know the dates of your first sick period. Get the dates and work it out. Or call DWP or go into a JC and ask them "am i eligible for another sick period"

If you don't mind me asking, What is wrong with you that you can't sign on or look for work...

I know the dates of my two sick periods and I am trying to work it out now. That's why I created this topic. I want to know when exactly a job seeking period starts and ends. This is so I don't have to start a 13-week period as that is not really needed for the illness I am having. It's kind of overkill for a common cold (that is still quite bad). But fine, I had my first period of illness last summer. My second illness was at the start of this year. Now that is two periods within a year. When does this reset and I can claim a new 2 week period of illness? It's fine if I gotta wait, but I would like to know before I fill in a JSA28 and risk my claim being closed if I am out of illness periods.

Well I would imagine and going by the document earlier that you would need to wait until summer or the start date of your previous sick period. So for example say 01 June 2015 I would say 01 June 2016 that is 12 month going by the rules.

Not sure common cold is a sickness if everyone who got common cold in Britain I dont think the country would operate... If you had say a chest infection or something that bad where you couldn't get out of bed.
