Rude sellers!

What's going on with eBay lately? this is the 3rd time in the space of a month that I've sent a perfectly reasonable email to a seller and they've turned around and sent a completely arsey comment in return!
Background: I ordered a PS4 game from this seller for a birthday present at the weekend, I selected this seller from the 14 others as they where the only ones offering Royal Mail 1st class postage.
Item ordered and paid for on Sunday (3rd).
The conversation starts Tuesday (yesterday) with the seller;
Seller: hi posted today will be with you in 6 to 10 working days
Me: Hello, can you please clarify if this has been sent with 1st class or not. Your listing said it would be and off the back of that I ordered from you as I wanted it for the weekend, not a massive problem but it'd be great if you could let me know?
Seller: does it matter???
Me: Well, yeah. As I mentioned I ordered it with the intention of having it for the weekend as your listing indicated it was going to be sent with Royal Mail 1st class. You emailed me saying it would take up to 10 working days, which doesn't sound like 1st class to me. All I've asked is that you clarify so I can make other arrangements as this was for a present.
Seller: will be with you shortly not sure what else you want
I just wanted you to tell me what postage you'd used! Seriously what's happening lately?

There isn't a Royal Mail service that takes 6-10 working days.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0 -

What does the ebay estimated delivery say on your order page? The eBay estimate is based on what the listing stated not what the seller says later.
The other thing to consider is that the postage method is not the only thing that determines the delivery estimate. I send 2nd class but have a 1 day dispatch. One of y minor competitors has 1st class as their included postage but have a 5 day dispatch, so my item should be quicker.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Also, I noticed something, because I'm very interested in psychology. (Don't read anything into this personal - the seller is well out of order.)
You choose the seller out of many and felt charitable to this particular vendor.
The seller makes a pittance as many sellers do in this cut throat market place. The seller makes a few pennies and doesn't feel the same way you do about the transaction.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. I like psychology too (I studied it at Uni for an afternoon!). I often wonder how the miserable herberts make it through the day. It makes the days go a lot quicker if you're nice to people.ballisticbrian wrote: »Also, I noticed something, because I'm very interested in psychology. Even on my worst days I like to think I do my best to make things go well.
The seller may well be on a pittance but several pittances make a pot. The best way to get more customers is by word of mouth, good feeback, etc. That only happens by being good to customers.
One of the most annoying things is that some horrible sellers do quite well no matter what. Hopefully the amount who do will decrease as reviews, etc become more prevalent..0 -

Where does it say they felt charitable to this seller? They bought from them because "they were the only ones offering Royal Mail 1st class postage".ballisticbrian wrote: »You choose the seller out of many and felt charitable to this particular vendor.
I think the non specific replies were unhelpful and rude. I would mention this in the feedback you leave.0 -

I quite agree.
I bought something recently which was not as described.
I emailed the seller to check that they had sent the correct one. They replied that they had and it was the wholesalers description and offered a refund.
I declined and said I would keep the item as I was happy with it anyway.
I was going to leave neutral feedback but the seller was very apologetic and changed the description in his listings.
As a result I left very positive feedback.0 -
I don't think you read all that I posted, about the psychology of the situation.Where does it say they felt charitable to this seller?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Some people are just not cut out for "customer service", eBay allows anyone and everyone to sell, and I guess with that we forget there are just some people who don't really care as long as they got their money. Not every eBayer is going to get the service they expected, nor is the seller going to get pleasant buyers. I've had a few buyers where i've gone above and beyond for them, and it still wasn't good enough and they were so rude.
But sending stuff 2nd class when the listing states 1st class, is one of my pet hates.0 -

6-10 working days is not 2nd class either!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Where is the seller registered? Outside the UK? Some Chinese sellers that use fake UK locations sometimes state 6 - 10 days, if it doesnt arrive on day 10 they will tell you to wait a few more days when it usually arrives.
14 days is fairly average. Although i have had a couple arrive in 7 and one took 92 days.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
