Parcelfarce delivered item to Amazon instead!!

Options
Arghhhh!

So angry at the moment I could scream.

Ordered two books from the USA. Both were signed at separate events by artists / animators so difficult to obtain in the UK. Seller (online gallery) sent them and was tracking online so saw they'd been delivered to local Parcelfarce depot on the 31st March.

Waited for them to be delivered but online tracking didn't change so phoned today to find out why...to be told that they'd "probably been put on a pallet for delivery to the Amazon plant as it's got a similar postcode" and that the chances of them being delivered to my address was now "extremely low"

So, due to their sheer incompetence I'll miss out on receiving both items. The seller can't send a replacement as the event has past and it's unlikely they will have any spare copies of both books they can send. Yes I'll likely get a refund but that's not the point.

I can't contact Amazon as they don't have a direct number and finding the box will likely be like finding a needle in a proverbial haystack so I think it's a given I'll get the "can't be located" response and for the seller to put in a claim against them.

Yes mistakes happen but it's still so frustrating when it does.

I think there may have been another recent thread where something was delivered to amazon by mistake. So they may have a procedure to deal with it.

Google amazon contact us UK and you will get telephone numbers and alternatives.

Has to be worth a go if you explain the circumstances. They have always seemed precisely organised to me so I would feel quite optimistic.

The same happened to a very expensive item being delivered to our company, it got sent to Amazon by mistake by DHL, Amazon is not even in the same town as us they are around 30 miles away so no idea how the mistake was made.

It took a few weeks and some investigation their end but they did locate the item and working together with them and DHL we got the item back albeit several weeks later and having the hassle of sourcing a replacement in the meantime.

If you need to contact your local Amazon try looking up local employment ads, there will likely be a phone number directly for them although the wrong department they'll be more likely to get you a direct line number.

Its the Dunfermline plant and they automatically assumed it was for there as thr start of the postcode was the same. I've contacted the seller so they are going to contact Parcelforce and chase them from their end to find it. They said if it gets sent back to them they will get in touch immediately so a bit more optimistic but still a major PITA. I'm not going to let Parcelforce away with a cursory check either so will be hassling them too to locate the parcel after their mistake!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll see if I can find a contact number or go through Amazon contact us and get them to try and find it too.

Think I've done everything I can to try and locate the parcel so now it's the waiting game. Thanks SJBrun for the contact email address. Have emailed them and customer service so hopefully someone over there can find it. I'd even offer to go and look myself as I can literally walk to the plant from where I live but it's like Fort Knox so don't think they'd allow me lol!

Just got the impression Parcelforce had done this before and weren't too bothered about trying to remedy the issue other than suggest I get in contact with the seller for a refund as less work for them.

Will let you know if it finally arrives...but thanks so far.

That may have been my thread you were looking at (at least I think I posted on here?)

It wasn't Amazon but schuh - also in Dunfermline weirdly! I eventually got my item as the people working in the depot were amazing and went searching through cages for it.

The delivery company were absolutely useless and washed their hands of it.

Phones Parcelfarce yesterday and initially the lady said "oh, it definitely wouldn't have been misdelivered, it'll be here" like I was some sort of idiot and said she'd locate where it was and call me back in 10 minutes.

Almost 20 minutes later she sheepishly admitted that that's where they "think" it went. Said someone was driving over last night to see if it had been put to the side. I have a sinking feeling ill never see it. If it's been unboxed and the items added to the shelves I've no chance. Only hope it's still boxed as there's at least a tiny chance it'll be returned to the sender or to Parcelforce. Won't hold my breath though. Had no response from the Amazon depot email so guessing it's not high up their priority list.

Glad you managed to get your item Gunsandbanjos.

Still no response from Amazon Dunfermline or PARCELFORCE Edinburgh (despite me phoning again and being told someone would phone back). Emailed complaints and it's now landed in the managing directors office for investigation. Don't think I'm going to see my package ever delivered to the intended address as nearly 2 weeks since they misdelivered it.

Will wait for Parcelforce response then contact the seller for a refund. So angry though as through their sheer incompetence, I miss out on receiving two books I desperately wanted that were signed so will never get that opportunity again unless I spent a significant sum of money on the secondary market tracking them down.

Did you contact Amazon customer services or just the warehouse?
