Churchill sent out a full renewal letter to me, increasing my premium from 1150 to 1450 (no claims)... I was quite chuffed to tell them I'd not be renewing as I'd already paid for Aviva for £645Started 07/15. Car finance £6951 , Mortgage: 261k - Savings: £0! Home improvements are expensive0

Auto renewal should be a customer choice to opt in & not the default option. It will suit some customers, they can opt in.
Companies like it as they can up the premiums & take the money, without contacting the customer.0 -
I'd prefer it to be opt in rather than opt out, but it isn't dificult to opt out. If you buy your insurance by phone you can normally opt out at the same time (I awlys tell them I'm opting out of autorenewal and I don't want to be contacted with any offers etc)
If you buy online you may need to phone to opt out but you can do this as soon as you have completed your original payment. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
