New circuits are notifiable but not alterations to existing ones (though the work still comes under part P as does all domestic electrical work). Very little is notifiable these days and the fee should be nominal anyway if the electrician can certify their own work.0 -
There is no Regulation which states that socket outlets downstairs cannot be fed from an upstairs circuit.If your upstairs and downstairs are on different circuits, you can't mix them. They should either be Spurs from down stairs or added to the downstairs ring. As others have said, depends totally on the specifics of your house as to how hard or easy it will be.0
