The new greenhouse is in place and ready for mr tru's chilli plants. I don't care much for the chillis - he grows so many, they take over the house, shed and last year, my tomato greenhouses. I'm just thrilled to have my space back :D

I've stopped eating eggs. I've had a reaction again – tingly, crawling skin and knots in my stomach, along with nausea. I'm OK with egg as an ingredient but boiled eggs, scambled eggs and omlettes are out. I love omlettes........

I've cleaned the kitchen carpet, it'll look lovely for about two days :D

Scampi's bells have arrived, I'll start teaching him today. Between bell ringing sessions, I'll be flicking the duster around, vacuuming and cleaning out the fridge. I'll also be watching last night's The Walking Dead finale, apparently it has a very frustrating cliffhanger which fans are angry about. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is in it though, so no matter what happens I'll be happy :D

Hi everyone,

Candlelight, I'm glad DH is getting treatment now, hopefully he will improve quite quickly.

Well the first day of the blood sugar diet hasn't put me off, I spent much more than usual on veg in Lidl yesterday, my bill was about £10 mre than normal, although I did buy extra fish as well. Lunch was field mushrooms stuffed with goat's cheese and pine nuts from the book - it was delicious.

I have to take the car in for it's first service today (already paid for thankfully). DH is working from home because someone is coming to look at one of the leather settees. It's only 2 years old and the colour has worn away in part, DFS are trying to say it's out of warranty but we'll gve them a fight - we have 2 others (not DFS) one 8 years old and the other older which haven't done this. Will not be going back to DFS, we questioned them on the leather and bought their top quality one to ensure it lasted.

Have a good day.
• Morning all. My thoughts are with all those having a rough time just now. CANDLELIGHT you poor love. What a long day you had yesterday. Let's hope today brings better news and the diuretics start taking effect. That's an awful lot of fluid to be carrying around.

LAINEY it's weigh day for me tomorrow too. In the main I have stuck to it, especially at meal times but, in among, I have slipped off the path a few times! Succumbing to the odd glass of wine and delving into the biscuit barrel!! But no bread, potatoes, pasta or rice has passed my lips honest! DUMPLING I made some Gram flour (chickpea flour) flatbreads last week. They were ok and edible but not as nice as a huge chunk of fresh bread!! Nevertheless I will make some more some time.

DD and the 3 girls are going back to the caravan today for the remainder of the school hols, coming home Sunday as school re-opens Monday. Weather permitting, Mr TA and I plan on taking over from them for a few days next week. We have never left our first stay so late before, but it's been so blooming cold.

Mr TA has his fortnightly bloods for Liverpool today. So the plan is I will go down with him and then we are going to 'Spoons as he fancies a Steak Day lunch. My intention is to have a Skinny Steak or an Avocado, Chicken and Bacon salad and avoid any chips!!

Have a good day all if you can (((HUGS))) to all in need, esp CANDLELIGHT, GERS and JUDI and anyone else having a rough time. Hope the interviews went well for SPEKY and ELONA's DD. xx

Evening everyone. It's 5.30pm in Melbourne and still unbearably hot. Tomorrow is forecast to be a ' much colder' 17c!

After the emotion of yesterday today has felt as if I've been drained of everything I've got left. Planned to go out with a girlfriend but ended up just going for lunch. Number 1 nephew went over to meet his brothers again, one is leaving tomorrow to go back to work. I'm meant to go over for dinner but feel like a wet blanket, too many people for too much of the time.

Candlelight - I'm so sorry to hear about your poorly OH but also so relieved he's getting proper treatment in the proper place.

Dumpling I hope you made it out OK.

My BDS has completely gone to pot here and I miss it. Still, I know I can quickly and easily jump back on the wagon when I get home on Saturday / Sunday.

I don't quite know which 'happy day' to say but my thoughts are with everyone.

Good morning to you all!

nmlc - The joys of modern technology, eh?! When it works, it's fantastic.

candlelight - My gran is currently in hospital in hospital in a bad way, and I share you relieved feeling knowing that their in the right place. I hope things improve today for you.

Gers & Judi - Thinking of you both.

tru - not being able to eat eggs?! Oh I don't know if I could do that. Love 'em.

Well the interview did indeed go well, thank you to all the good luck wishes! The interviewer rounded off the hour long meeting by saying I was exactly what he was looking for and if it was up to him I’d be on the sales team but he needs to have a 2nd opinion. This is all good and well, however upon him explaining the role and most importantly, the salary, I don’t think I want to pursue it anymore. I would need to take a cut on my basic salary of £15k, with a higher commission % - that’s a risk I’m not willing to take when I’ve debts to clear and plans for the future. I’ll bide my time until the right job comes along.

Need to buy a present for my cousins 30th (female), struggling for ideas that are cheap – any suggestions?

Have a fantastic day all!

Morning everyone,

Haven't posted for ages so I hope that I am still welcome here.

Candlelight Many hugs and positive vibes for you.

Judi Thinking of you.

i am on school holidays now. We had the Easter weekend out and then went back to school for 4 days. We now have a fortnight off, it seems really strange.

I am not doing anything exciting as DD1 is revising for A levels and DD2 is revising for GCSEs! DS goes back o university on Friday.

Off out for my daily walk soon, I try to do at least 5 miles a day but after a year of this I now have a dodgy knee!

Have a lovely day everyone.:)
• Some good news, I phoned the ward and actually spoke to Himself. He has lost 4 kilos since last night so that is good, it is, at least, a start. He sounded quite bright although he hadn't slept much because of noises on the ward, but there again he hasn't been sleeping anyway.

Looking forward to seeing him tonight.

Thanks for the hugs

Candlelightx
• That's great news candlelight. Going in the right direction, let's hope it continues in that vein.
• CANDLELIGHT that is such good news. You must be so relieved after yesterday's ordeal of a day.

Slight change of plan here. Mr TA gone for his blood tests already and I am meeting him in town afterwards (I will catch next bus down) then I am meeting him to catch the bus to Ilkley. Their 'Spoons is much nicer than ours and it'll make a change as we haven't been for ages. Their M & S food is much bigger and better than ours too so must allow time for a browse in there before heading for the bus home. You never know, I might be lucky with yellow stickers!!

GERS you sound so down but no wonder. We don't expect to attend funerals of people much younger than us do we? I'll never forget the funeral of a work colleague many, many years ago. She was just 22 and newly married. The despair on her parent's faces and the utter misery of her new husband, are sights I will never forget.

Much love all xxx Welcome back Moorhen, long time no see!
